you know that isnt a silly question im glad you ask cause not all starches from cats are bad just like dogs they like to play and so them swipping at you with thier paws is the same as well as biting you , but like dogs they have their boundaries but more notable dogs want to always be loved cats dont need you as much .. every cat owner has been bit or sctrached by their cat most of the time it due to play time with them but we also know the difference of play and anger

I suppose cats are more like us than most people give them credit for, sometimes you don't want to be patted and cuddled constantly

I would love to have a rescue cat, you probably know this by now

funny story though there's this ginger cat that belongs to my co-workers cousin that makes random visits to my lounge window and stares at me so intently it's a little freaky
