Haha, I just got home.

My sister only just found out that the writers were playing around with putting Rachel and Chandler together in the series. She was so disappointed they didn't go through with it.

Yup. TOW The Flashback was kind of a tester to see if audiences would be receptive to a Chandler/Rachel relationship.

The flashback one + The first kiss in college one at the dance + 2 kisses when Chandler was kissing Monica and had to kiss both Rachel/Phoebe so they wouldn't be suspicious.

I don't know if they didn't respond well so much as they maybe didn't respond at all? I don't know how that little episode could have ~tested waters!
