The One That Shouldn't Have Been

What storylines and jokes would you have liked not to have seen? What didn't you like? How would you have made it better or different?

I didn't like that Shark Porn plot at all, nor any of those season 9 jokes that Monica made about her "erection". Just icky.

I found the Hand Twin plot from Vegas very dumb; why couldn't they just have made Joey join Phoebe's casino lurker plot? He could get overly excited about trying to keep the lurker away from Phoebe's slot machine or something.

I agree with both of those.

I really hate when the mention that Chandler might be gay. It was funny in the first season and I really like the episode they did about it then. But now, he's married and adopting a baby...maybe it's time to find a new joke, okay?

I don't like mean-spirited Phoebe either. The Phoebe from the first or second season wouldn't have said, "Oh come on people, how do I know who I like the best if I don't know who makes the most?" Just ugh.

Okay, I hope that when I say this that I don't make anyone mad. I didn't like the whole thing with Ross and Rachel having a baby. Yeah, it was interesting when they found out and it did draw in a lot of viewers. However, the whole thing is just kinda......I don't know.....weird now. You know? I don't think I'm the only one that could think that that storyline was a little out of place.

I do like all the jokes, though. I just wish that they would do something more with Monica. It seems like they never give her any funny lines anymore. She's only this "cleaning person" now. Why can't they give her something else? I mean, she does do other stuff than just clean and whine! At least before she did!

The Joey/Rachel storyline was just lame. I mean, it seemed like such a waste of time because they were both just in need of a relationship, and found it in the wrong people.

And they really need to lay off on the whole Joey being an eating machine. That's kinda sad. All those food jokes are getting old.

Terrible Storylines:

Rachel and Joey
Rachel and Ross' baby
all of Monica and Chandler's baby planning details...things we never needed to know!!!
Janice...they kept forcing her in

Well, I partly agree with that. I do like slashing Joey and Chandler, but I don't need Chandler constantly being portrayed as effeminate and wimpy, especially when Monica's turned so controlling lately. I like a strong Chandler who stands up for himself.

She's very money-obsessed lately, isn't she? When she met Mike's parents she was very impressed, saying excitedly, "You're rich!" When Mike protested, "No, my parents are rich," she just answered, "They gotta die sometime." Who on earth would say something so crass? Not Phoebe. And now this season, with her taking the money back from the charity and wanting a big wedding--I don't like her this way. (I mean, yeah, I want her to be happy, but can't she have a cool, unconventional wedding that doesn't cost as much as a big fancy wedding?) She seems more like Ursula every day.

Episode-wise, last year's Christmas episode was horrible filler from beginning to the end, and it never should have aired.

As for small plots, the Shark Porn thing was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen on this show. I still scratch my head over that one. I can't imagine what kind of writers brainstorming could have given birth to that idea, nor can I imagine the discussion that led them to decide to actually write a script around the idea.

For major story arcs, I especially hate the mishandling of Phoebe's character, which had only gotten progressively worse with each season. This season and the past, it's kind of just plateaued.

The back and forth of Ross/Rachel and Joey/Rachel is annoying, also. Pick a resolution and stick with it. Go with it or don't.

I don't like the Joey/Rachel thing either. Now I am a J/R shipper, but the thing is they had no intention of going through with it and all it did was make me feel sad for Joey and hate R/R even more.

well i really could have done without pheobe having the triplets story. Well itīs a super nice thing to do but that story just makes no sense, i mean they make almost no effort in mentioning them nor does phoebe ever talk about.

I think the triplet story was only there because Lisa Kudrow was pregnant and they worked it into the show.

I have one to add to the list: Janine. Elle MacPhearson CANNOT act, and it was hopeless. They actually cut her out early, so at least they realised it wasn't working.

Wow! I thought that Phoebe's pregnancy storyline was one of the best the show ever had. It was genuine, poignant, funny and beautifully written. I never thought I'd hear someone list that story as their least favorite.

But, to each, his (or her) own I suppose.

I could have done without the "shark" storyline.

I didn't like Chandler in Tulsa.
I didn't like the Joey/Rachel/Ross triangle
I originaly wanted Emma's dad to be guest start Brad Pitt, as a short, secret relationship that Rachel had. But Ross as her dad is good too.
Didn't like the shark joke.
Chandler being gay is old now.
Phoebe isn't the carefree hippy she was in the beginning.
I have to think if there are others, but I think I am done.

Now that the show is almost over, anyone else have any storylines they hated?
