I think it's sad that not many people really appreciated this.

I'm actually impressed with how many shippers they had. I wish they had lasted longer, but I can see why they broke up soon, there are many more Ross&Rachel fans.

I still think Joey and Rachel was a better couple, though.

I agree. I'm all for Rachel potentially being with any of the guys, but I thought her and Joey were an undeniably great match. I thought for how ever short a time they were together, they made sense. And it kinda sucks that Joey's feelings for her were undermined when the writers broke them up

i knew when i started liking them though that they wouldn't end up together - still the moments they had showed a love that was true & honest, better then anything else

I should've known from the start that the writers wouldn't have RR be endgame with anyone but each other; but it was still nice to have those Rachel/Joey eps.

That's what I hated the most about it. It was very clearly stated many times, that he was in love with her- those sort of feelings don't disappear overnight. Rachel was better because it wasn't played to be a very serious thing, but still... no awkwardness, nothing? I am still incredibly narked that we got to see everyone's goodbye but Joey and Rachel's in TOW Rachel's Going Away Party- I would have preferred to see it without any romantic reference whatsoever than not at all. See Ross's reaction to not getting a goodbye? They were my thoughts, pretty much word-for-word.

I thought it was ridiculous too that they played Joey/Rachel w/o tension post-break-up. The ep following Joey's confession of love for her in s8, there was A LOT of tension. The ep focused on that tension. Whereas in s10 they suddenly casually decide to revert to being just friends after everything they went through to get together?? Made no sense. What also made no sense was the two of them not being able to be passionate with each other b/c it was too awkward, apparently. Did the writers look back to the previous Barbados eps? The step they were taking that would've took them past the friendship stage was very clearly being taken, no problem.

ita, i think the thought the only way to make r/j ok as friends was to sweep their whole relationship under the rug

That's definitely the impression the writers left when they ended the relationship. It think it's b/c as it was so near to the show ending, they assumed people wouldn't care anyway, b/c the majority wanted RR in the end.

I always wished these two would end up together, even though in my heart I knew it was very, very unlikely.

I completely agree about the relationship just being almost forgotten completely. I mean for a character like Joey - who is effectively a womaniser - to be in LOVE is such a dramatic change for him and for it to just be completely forgotten about was really ridiculous IMO.
