2x21 – TOW the Bullies

Everybody hangs out at the beginning.

Joey: I’m telling you Rach, I’ve gone dad-hunting with Phoebe before. This is a very scary thing for her, she gets real vulnerable and that’s why we’re there, to you know, be supportive and crap.
Rachel: Ok, well you just let me know when to do which.

Joey: See, didn’t I tell you that these pillows were a great idea?
(…)
Joey: Hey Rach, you, uh, want some sandwich?
Rachel: Oh, what is in that?
Joey: Olive loaf and ham spread. No mayo.
Rachel: No, no, because mayo, that would make it gross.
(…)
Joey: Get a bone! Get a bone! You got a bone?
Rachel: Are you kidding me?!

Rachel: Ok, here, I know what we can do.
Joey: Hey, hey, hey, no!
Rachel: Ok, doggy, get the sandwich! Go get the sandwich, doggy! Good doggy, get the sandwich! Ok Joey, the dog will lick himself but he will not touch your sandwich. What does that tell you?
Joey: If he’s not going to eat it, I will.

They wait with Phoebe and then decide to go home.

They have breakfast together.
Rachel: ‘Time if money, my friend’?
Joey: Yeah, you missed ‘takes money to make money’ and ‘don’t make me come down there and kick your Wall Street butt’.

Rachel: Why the voice?
Joey: Hard to say.

They all go watch Monica work at the end.

You were right! That was a J/R heavy episode! It had slipped my mind, too, so I was pleasantly surprised when I first saw it. I love this episode, and all the GIFs and caps you made from it are fantastic! They were very playful and affectionate with each other throughout - one of my favorite bits is when Joey touched Rachel's shoulder before Phoebe started the car. I also love that Joey offered some of his sandwich to Rachel, and she tried to use it to distract the dog! LOL at another scary dog moment for J/R

And it was a neat, consistent character trait for Joey to slip into a voice or character, like when he tried to imitate the fireman later on for Rachel!

It is a great ep & I just realized how cute it was that Joey offered to share his sandwich with her, because usually JOEY DOESN'T SHARE FOOD!

Also, there's the sandwich he's willing to take a bullet for in season 5

& the little looks they share are so cute

Plus, I love how casually she sits down to have breakfast together, they were probably a lot closer then they knew back then

Rachel complains about her parents to everyone.

He yells surprise to her at her second surprise party.

Everyone helps to keep her parents apart, & Joey kisses her mom.

Another great recap! Poor Rachel, I felt so bad for her in this episode. I love that Joey and the others tried so hard to keep her birthday from being ruined, and Joe did what he did best to help out, LOL!

Those vids are so great! Love how you provided different tones in them, like how the first one was fun, flirty, and fast paced, but the second was serious and angsty. All reasons why I love J/R!

The first song is so catchy; I intend to look for it myself! And the second one, OMG - the ultimate J/R song! Neat transitions, too.

Really, terrific job on them, and thanks for bumping the thread
