Friends - How did Monica and Phoebe meet?

Two such different women from such very different backgrounds -- how do you think they met and decided to live together in the beginning?

I have no idea, and don't remember any stories from the Friends themselves. I would like to think that Street Phoebe grew up, became a masuse (sp?lol). Then saw Monica's ad for a roomate, and the rest, as they say, is history. They should do an episdoe with a quick flashback of how they met before it ends.

edited to say: Also it's kinda funny how Monica's brother's college roommate lived across the hall. I would have liked to see how that happened. I would assume Monica was there first since the apt was her grandmother's.

I wonder if they will show us how they met before the show is over.

I'm sure it was something innocuous like a roommate finder service, but I wish it was something crazy and fun.

I think I read somewhere that they met through a roommate finder service.

I also assumed that Monica lived there first after her grandmother moved and the apartment across the hall came open and she told Ross maybe and he mentioned it to Chandler who was searching for a place. I don't think it was just destiny that brought them together that way.

I also wondered why we never saw Chip, Chandler's first roomie whom Monica dated. We hear of him alot but never see.

I was looking through old thread and this one catched my attention. I believe we never really knew how they met and why they decided to live together.

The only thing we know is Phoebe tried to cut Monica off.

Yeah, I really can't imagine anything but an add to join them, because they are so different, I think Phoebe wouldn't want to move in if she knew what a neat freak Monica was

But it's funny to see that they became such good friends even being so different, today I was thinking about the first season when they took care of that unconcious man
