I was thinking about which season finale cliffhangers were the best and came up with a list. I thought to come here and post it and also read all of yours.

#1 Season 4 TOW Ross' Wedding. Not only was I so happy that Monica and Chandler hook up and hoped that TPTB would keep them together; but my jaw dropped when Ross said Rachel's name. I kept thinking how is he going to get out of that one.

#2 Season 7 TOW Monica and Chandler's Wedding I couldn't believe they made Rachel pregnant and was trying to figure out all summer who the father was.

#3 Season 5 TO In Vegas Ross and Rachel got married??

#4 Season 3 TO at the Beach I was happy Phoebe had a cliffhanger story.

#5 Season 1 TOW Rachel Finds Out I was happy she found out and thought how could Ross forget about Rachel so easily.

#6 Season 8 TOW Rachel Has a baby Joey proposing wasn't much of a cliffhanger just a big misunderstanding.

# 7 Season 9 TO in Barbados I didn't care much for the Joey/ Rachel & Ross/Charlie hook up.

# 8 Season 2 TOW Barry and Mindy's Wedding The only cliffhanger here was Chandler and Janice's internet meeting story so I put it at the bottom.

Even though Season 6 TOW the Proposal was a great season ender there was no cliffhanger.

Season seven was definitely our biggest one here at the board. All hell broke loose that night -- we were inundated with hundreds of posters in the hours following the finale and I stayed up late into the night to corral the craziness The "Who's the father?" thread was the longest non-appreciation thread we've ever had! (Personally, I didn't like it because I was really sold on Monica's pregnancy.)

For me the best cliffhanger will always be the first season with Rachel waiting for Ross at the airport while Madonna's "Take A Bow" plays. I loved that whole episode and it was just heartwrenching to see Ross with Julie and then Rachel's hopeful expression on the fade-out. It was just torture waiting all summer to find out what was going to happen!

I think my favorite cliffhanger was season 7 because I remember spending all summer hoping that Ross was the father and not some random guy.

God, I remember the aftermath of the Season 7 cliffhanger, I spent the entire next couple of months wondering who the father was and I was so happy when it was revealed that it was Ross because I won a bet and also because I'm a shipper.

I liked the Season 7 cliffhanger, but I was hoping that Monica would be pregnant, so I was a little disappointed with it.

But my favorite was Season 4. I mean, you had Chandler/Monica, what was going to happen with them? And Ross said Rachel's name at his wedding. I spent so much time trying to figure out what was going to happen in the next season.

season 1, love it what julie comes into the picture and Rachel has a commpetitor for Ross. (Even if it is Ross + Rachel forever)

My favorite season finale cliffhanger is definitely TOW Ross' Wedding. Ross saying Rachel's name at the alter was pure genius on the writers' parts!

Definitely Season 4. TOW Ross' Wedding. It was totally unexpected. I mean I would have never thought of that. And my jaw was practically on the floor when I watched Ross said 'I take thee, Rachel.' It was brilliant.

That sounds insaine. I think I missed that back in 2001.
Back then my sister was predicting that Brad Pitt would come on to guest star as a one night stand Rachel had and he would be the baby's father. At the time I thought it was a cool idea because I thought making Ross the father seemed to predictable but then in the end it feels right that Ross is Emma's father.

OMG, me too! Initially, I was so upset that Rachel didn't tell Ross she was still in love with him before the wedding. Whenever she said.. "Congratulations" my heart sunk being the die-hard R/R shipper. Even though I commended Rachel loving Ross so much, that she didn't say anything to ruin his wedding day. That was so unselfish of her and I was proud of her, even if I wanted her to blurt out that she was still in love with him! I felt horribly for Rachel as she was in so much pain watching Ross marry Emily. And then whenever Ross said Rachel's name instead of Emily's during the vows, I jumped out of my chair and screamed with excitement. Instantly, I thought of how freaking brilliant the writers were for coming up with this huge, shocking surprise ending, especially if you love Ross and Rachel. I was on cloud 9, that's for damn sure because I knew Ross and Emily were done right then and there. Hee.

I also loved C/M hooking up. That rocked and I was pleasantly surprised to see it.

The end of season 1 was also huge. I was totally ticked that Ross was with Julie and Rachel was there waiting for him. SO frustrating as a die-hard R/R shipper. But I loved the beginning season 2 episodes with jealous Rachel. That was so great to see..

The end of season 7 also rocked but somehow, someway, I just KNEW that Ross was the father. I knew it and never doubted it. I think I just felt like I was in sync with how the writers wrote storylines and I KNEW Ross was the father because I knew the writers would eventually get Ross and Rachel back together at the end of the series and having Rachel pregnant with Ross's baby was like the beginning of the start of the Ross/Rachel reunion even if it took a couple more years to officially reunite them where they would get the happy ending. I just knew that it would make no sense to have Rachel get pregnant with some random guy. I knew it had to be Ross and I knew the love affair that the writers had with Ross/Rachel and I deep down felt like the writers only had one choice and that was for the baby to be Ross's. And I was one happy camper when officially confirming what I already knew at the beginning of 8.

TOW Ross's Wedding still has to be the best, though, for me. It packed more wallop than any other. I stopped breathing on both occasions when they revealed the cliffhangers.

Ooh, tough. I've actually got three favorite cliffhangers, all involving Ross & Rachel. But, if I have to pick ONE ... Ross reciting his wedding vows to Emily as "I, Ross, take thee, Rachel" in Season 4's TOW Ross's Wedding. I still remember the promo; they used Trisha Yearwood's version of "How Do I Live (Without You)" with the scene of Rachel arriving to tell Ross and seeing both he and Emily in their wedding attire, kissing. That was one of the most touching FRIENDS scenes (definitely Top 5): Rachel seeing that and then trying to tell Ross, only to end up congratulating him.

Gotta be Season 7. I had a feeling it was probably Ross's child but still.....
I loved all of the season cliffhangers really so it's hard to choose

Season 7 was my favorite. Every time I see it, and that's a lot of times, I'm still completely in shock. It also helps that Jennifer played that look perfectly.

I also loved Season 1 because leading up to Ross and Rachel took a whole season, and finally it was right there-- and then he has Julie. Also, Season 5 because Ross and Rachel got married which was hilarious and really surprising!
