Discussion: Holiday Episodes
While the Thanksgiving episodes are classics in their own right, Friends has put out some fabulous episodes featuring the December holidays Sometimes the holiday features more heavily in the episode than in others, but it's always there!
The Episodes: [season 1] TOW The Monkey (New Year's Eve) [season 2] TOW Phoebe's Dad (Christmas) [season 3] TOW Rachel Quits (Christmas) [season 4] TOW The Girl From Poughkeepsie (General Holiday) [season 5] TOW The Inappropriate Sister (Christmas) [season 5] TOW All The Resolutions (New Year's Eve) [season 6] TOW The Routine (Christmas/New Year's Eve) [season 7] TOW The Holiday Armadillo (Hanukkah) [season 8] TOW Ross's Step Forward (Christmas) [season 9] TOW Christmas in Tulsa (Christmas) Since there are ten episodes and a thread gets ten pages, I figure we can do an episode a page. So first up is TOW The Monkey. Last edited by girl in a cardigan; 12-14-2004 at 03:37 AM |

I suppose it was ok...I was never a big fan of the monkey. I guess I have a little bit more of Monica in me than Ross...

I liked the Monkey. I thought it was a funny and unusual way for Ross to deal with his divorce.
I'll rewatch the episode and come back to talk more. |

I love TOW the Monkey! First of all, it introduced David and we got to see a real romantic relationship for Phoebe evolve, which was nice. Plus, I adored Marcel and this episode was only the beginning.

Oh I forgot about David...yeah that was nice. Kind of sad when she sent him off to Minsk..<sp>. Was this the one where everyone ended up with no one to kiss at the end and Joey ends up kissing Chandler? If so that was pretty funny...that needs to be an avi.

The one with the monkey wasn't one of my favorites, but I did still like it! I do remember when Chandler ending up getting kissed by Joey....awwww....good times!

What I get is how they don't make a big of a deal out of Christmas they way they do with Thanksgiving...

Well, half the characters were Jewish, so that's probably one reason

This is a little off topic but you know what always didn't make sense to me, if Ross and Monica are Jewish then how come at their weddings they didn't also have a Rabbi present?
I always thought that was strange. |
