Season 8 isn't one of the best seasons, but every season of Friends is truly incredible and the eighth season is no exception.

Chandler could have took his shoes off when they danced, or they could have danced on the carpet. But dancing with slippery shoes is funnier.

But I didn't want funny at their wedding reception. It was bad enough that it ended up being all about Rachel (a trend that continued all season), but then Monica and Chandler couldn't even have a romantic dance? I was really disappointed.

I agree with you about the wedding reception. It should have been more romantic (and the whole season should've been aswell

I thought it was cute. This is Friends, after all. It's a comedy, so funny moments are necessary. The seventh season finale had all of those wonderful romantic moments, so I didn't feel like we got jipped with the premiere. The One With Monica and Chandler's Wedding was the wedding episode, The One After "I Do" just had the same setting. At least that's the way I saw it.

That's why I think the writers wrote it that way.
They had a nice romantic dance at the end of TOW the Proposal, at least.
