Wasted potential on both the romance - because Skin Deep, the episode that introduced the pairing, was really great, but a rare exception, not the standard of the writing for them - and Belle, because she is one of the most beloved Disney princesses.

Yeah, if I were a Belle fan watching this show, I would be absolutely livid at how her character is being treated. She should be more than just an extension of a poorly written ship.

Well, the official story is that the producers had always known that they were going to kill off Jamie's character early on in the series because they wanted to show that the stakes are real and that everyone could die at any moment. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

Anyways, I'm not sure that I really believe it because when the series was originally picked up, Jamie was announced as a series regular and they also treated him as such (promo photos, press events, etc.). But then when fall rolled around, Jamie was all of a sudden downgraded to guest star status and I knew immediately that he was now on the chopping block. Clearly, something must have happened behind the scenes that resulted in an abrupt change of direction, but I doubt that we'll ever truly find out what that something was.

If I didn't know about the quality of the show, I would be inclined to check it out just by seeing these gifs.
