Alex, I agree with you about Feliciano Lopez. Luckily he won his first round match.
He's in the third round already. Ferrer will be very tough to beat in the next round, but considering that clay is Feli's worst surface, he has already done well for himself by making it as far as he has.

On the men's side, I am rooting for Feliciano Lopez, Fernando Verdasco, Grigor Dimitrov, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Juan Martin Del Potro and our German players. On the women's side, I am really only rooting for Aga Radwanska and to a lesser extent Ana Ivanovic and Julia Goerges. IMO, women's tennis has become unwatchable because so many players are very obviously using PEDS. I'm sure doping is fairly wide-spread on the men's side too, but it hasn't hurt the game as much from a technical perspective.

I was looking forward to seeing how Del Potro would do at the French Open but he pulled out injured. Hopefully he will be at Wimbledon.

It 's a shame about the doping. I'm not very good at noticing which players are using.

It's a shame Angelique Kerber lost in the first round.

I don't think Juan pulled out because of an injury. I mean, yeah, it's his official reason because players need to cite an illness or injury if they want to pull out of a tournament, but in reality, he chose not to play because he's focusing on the grass season and the Olympics.

Sadly, I'm too good at noticing the doped athletes and it has really ruined a lot of my interest in the sport. For example, when Sharapova won the 2014 French Open, I was convinced that she was using PEDs because her stamina was absolutely unreal and my suspicions were proven right earlier this year.

I'd rather lose than cheat. It's a shame that so many players get away with it.

Nadal pulled out today. I hope he will be ready for Wimbledon.

Me too, but there's too much money at stake and most athletes are greedy fcks. That's why you see cases like our German speedskater Claudia Pechstein. Even if they have already achieved everything there is to achieve in their sport, they start to dope because they can't bear to get beaten by younger athletes. They would rather put their reputation on the line to stay at the top of the game until the end of their careers instead of going out gracefully.

I was shocked by his withdrawal. He played so well in the first 2 rounds and there were no signs of injury at all.

It makes it harder for the athletes who don't dope. Not only is it harder for them to win. they might be suspected of doping themselves if they do win.

Sorry the open is not going the way that you guys had hoped I didn't know that using drugs was such an issue in professional tennis.

Thanks Amy.

I think the drugs problem in tennis has been going on for a long time. The testing has got better in recent years so hopefully things will clean up.

it probably will because they won't be able to hide it as well with the newer testing procedures

It's nice to see Samantha Stosur getting to the semi-final. I accidentally left her off my list of players I'm interested in.
