I'm sure some shippers already glared at her when she first popped up in that airport scene thinking of her as a new romantic "obstacle", but from what I've seen around most people either didn't like Michelle Rodriguez's portrayal, or thought Ana's character in general came off as too violent/irritating.

Juliet got a much better reception for sure (although she has fierce haters, too), and same goes for Ben, the other big character introduced in S3.
The only tail section character who got a really good overall response was Eko, I believe.

Michelle Rodriguez always plays the same type, hard and tough. I could see people not enjoying that.

Did people not like Libby? I know she wasn't a huge factor, but I liked that character.

Was it true the guy that played Eko didn't get along with some of the cast?

People either liked her, or were indifferent to her. But I don't remember her having many haters.

That was the rumor. Apparently Dominic Monaghan flat out said so in a radio interview back then, but I never listed to it so I can't say how reliable that piece of information is.

I do remember that during a video interview either in Season 5 or Season 6, Evangeline Lilly said that the only Season 2 cast member/character she liked was Bernard/Sam Anderson. I don't know whether that's telling or not of how things on set were between the original cast and the S2 additions.

Thanks. It's interesting to get all this information all these years later . I followed Lost the entire way, but never got overly involved in the fandom or anything. Now I kinda wished I did cause I missed all the fun and gossip.

You did miss a part of the fun, I admit that's true - the crazy speculations about the plot and what was going on behind the scenes sometimes where more rewarding than the actual episode you saw on screen , but the Lost fandom could get....intense, so you also missed on some nasty stuff not getting too involved.

Didn't Lost end before twitter and tumblr got real big? Those two places have made fandom even more insane I think.

Once Upon a Time fandom has gone to new levels of crazy I've noticed, mostly due of course to all the shipping. I hope Liz's character stays out of all that .

Digital Spy has released a list of their favourite Lost characters. Juliet came in at number 7.

...Did I just see Frank Lapidus make it at the eighth spot of a 37-positions ranking? *blink*

Oh well. Seventh isn't a bad placement at all, and she tops the list of women from the show. I'd say she deserves to be higher but it's tough to battle against super ultra fan favorites like Desmond, Ben or Locke.

People liked Locke? He worked my nerves.

There is a lot wrong with that list, IMO. I would have ranked Sayid and Boone much higher. Sayid's ranking, in particular, is ridiculous if you ask me. Ranked at number 17 behind characters such as Lapidus, Miles, Michael, Jack, Kate, Alpert or Jin? He should be in the top 10 for sure.

I liked Locke just fine and Terry O'Quinn gave a great performance in the role, but he was never one of my most favourite Lost characters. Many people did love him, though.

Yeah all the actors were fine, the writing just made me furious at some characters. I felt bad for disliking Kate because I did really like Evangeline. People in the center of long running triangles always end up the source of annoyment I think.

And Nikki and Paulo above Charlotte, Boone above Ana Lucia, Claire over Sun. I disagree so hard with some placements I could hurt my neck shaking my head.

I wsas a big, big Sayid fan, but man, did they mess up his storylines in the last seasons. They did that to many characters, but I'm still impressed by some scenes they threw at Sayid.

My Lost memories have become so fuzzy over the years, but that's probably a good thing. All I remember about Sayid in the latter seasons is that he was possessed by the Man in Black, died by bomb explosion (oh, the imagery) and the biggest WTF!? of them all: That he ended up with Shannon in the afterlife. I thought it negated much of his series-long character arc.
