Seriously jumping on board with this friendship thread, can I be added too? Alaric-Elena-Jeremy pseudo-family is one of the best parts of this show, it's so cute how far Alaric's come from the guy who was scared to even talk to Elena about Isobel. Hope they continue on in this vein, because he's been set up as Elena's father figure from the start (so can't be a coincidence that all his relationships have been with Elena's mother-figures

I seriously cannot wait for more Alaric and Elena scenes!  I just love them so much! She may be an adult now and more than smart enough to take care of herself, and she might have other fathers like Grayson and John Gilbert, but it doesn't mean she can't have another Dad to watch out for her and be there for her when she needs someone to turn to for comfort.Alaric is the perfect guy and he fits that role already!  Their little family is just amazing and I love it! It just warms my heart. Alaric may not be her father by blood or some legal document, but he's her father by heart and soul. He stepped up when no one else did, and he never walked away or abandoned her, she needs that kind of stability in her life. Alaric is good for her. Even the strongest toughest little girl needs her Daddy sometimes. Hope to see more of them in the second half of the season! I was wondering, I've been thinking of Alaric and Jeremy as Papa-Bear and Baby-Bear, so what should we call Elena?  __________________
