Aww, which episode was it? I stopped watching the show after awhile so I basically only saw her in like 1 1\2 seasons.

Exactly and especially since at the start of this she had just lost of her parents and she continues to lose people or see people she loves all around her get hurt. Her life is so complicated, I don't know how she even deals.

but Mia got more interesting as the show progressed.

Very emotional episode for Elena. Nina was fantastic in the scene where she was getting Alaric's stuff from his classroom.

It's really sad that she thinks she has noone. I'm sure Jeremy, Caroline, Bonnie & Matt will never leave her side.

I agree. Nina was so wonderful this episode. Her vulnerability - with Stefan and with losing her only guardian left was so hard hitting. It was so great, though heartbreaking.

I agree and I heard people complain about this part:

I'm gonna raise the stakes|I'm gonna smoke you out
Which I think is just crazy because have they seen how many people Elena has loss? Her adopted parents, her aunt, her biological parents - it's never ending for her. She may be 18 but that doesn't mean that she doesn't wish that there wasn't an adult figure to look after her. She's still in H.S., she doesn't have all the answers yet and now she has to take care of her brother by herself. It's not easy and it's no wonder she said what she said, it's understandable.

In tonight's episode, I love the way Elena was able to find a way and trick Alaric and give Caroline enough time to run. Oh and I also liked this parallel:

That moment was so shocking. I can't believe she was actually doing it. She's so brave.

I loved when she saved Caroline too. She was smart enough to trick Alaric.

wow. love the title. wow. Elena going to have to pick between the two brothers and the ending was very shocking. Her scene with Caroline when Ric had them trapped.
