I'm just waiting for book1 and I'm off to read.

Feel free to post discussions about the book and comparison with the show (once it started).

Let's make threads for each books? Do you think that's better? I personally think so since some of us might get spoiled with what happened on the latest book, etc.

We already know there are some differences, from the books to the show. Like the physical ones with Elena's hair, and her not bitchy attitude, and Bonnie.
And that there is no Meredith yet.

What do you people think the difference in Elena's attitude? I'm hoping we get a bit of her bitchy side in the upcoming episodes. Not really mean, more like a Blair Walforf attitude

I think they were scared to present the main girl as a bitch as people will prolly be turned off. It's more of a marketing strategy for me. Cliche, I know, if we'll have a damsel in distress kinda girl; but I think it works well on tv.

I would like to see her with that Blair Waldoff attitude, too. A girl can kick some mighty ass, if you get my drift.

I think we'll see her take a stand when she's around Damon, because if we don't, she'll just be a pushover and that wont be too interesting

and no that's not just my shipper heart talking, I'm saying it in General for the TV show, seeing a badass like Damon tellin' Elena she'll be his and she'll just be like.."OKay" if that happens, I'm going to laugh my ass off, so much and be like "wtf"

so yeah...she'll take a stand when she needs too. she has to in order for the things to work. as for the changes, I don't really care for them. I actually think the show will be better then the Books

I think the show does have the potential to be better, but we'll take it one episode at a time.
