Meh. I would give this episode a C+. The Elena being adopted reveal saved it for me. Even though, I was not 100 surprised for some reason.

Was it just me or was
 down for a while? I got a little upset cause I thought I would not be able to share my pearls of wisdom with you guys.  Anyway, I'm glad the show is back but yes, today's episode seemed to be going slowly. I wish we got some Matt & Caroline, I missed them in this episode. I still don't know whether I ship S/E or D/E yet. I think I'm going to ship D/S from now on.  Next week looks like some Pleasantville type thing. And I wasn't surprised about Elena being adopted either. ~CT __________________

Yup, no Caroline or Matt in this episode. Lots of Jeremy and this new girl Anna, Elena & Damon with Bree (aka Gina Torres), Bonnie & Stefan moments, Bonnie's grandma, and Stefan telling Elena he met her the day her parents died, he saved her, and he loves her because she's not Katherine. Oh, Alaric comes at the end and we learn that Damon killed his girlfriend/wife/whichever she is. It ends with Alaric menacingly drinking his drink!

This episode was really good I enjoyed all the parts especially D/E scenes, B/S, J/A, and the shocking parts at the end wow
 I’m still trying to process this in my head damn Elena was adopted didn’t see that one coming, and Damon was the one that killed Alaric’s wife man that guy was heated Damon didn’t know what he just walked into.I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t wait until next week the promo looks really good. __________________

Question: Is Alaric a vampire too or something? They went to a close-up of his ring and I wondered if he is a vampire and that's why he's allowed in the daylight?

No, he just tells her. She's mad at Jenna now (for obvious reasons). As for Alaric, I have no idea what's up with that guy's story. But he's pissed as well.
