I was thinking about how they can keep Elena involved. Maybe they can do something like what they did with Amara. We didn't see her much (she was also locked away), but she was still part of the storyline. And then she awakened.

Can be I guess, depends on how much they actually care to keep her involved in the show in the end This can be a great way to do it and make her important again

If she's just sleeping, she should be fine I hope so for her, I'd rather not to think about her being aware of her present state It's already sad to think about Damon's loneliness

Being trapped in an AU world is heaven compared to being locked up in a coffin. You have free food, light and space. Elena has none...if she would be concious.

She either has too many tweets, doesn't bother, or they're discussing stuff in the writer's room.

That would be merciful. What Amara went through was horrible. Being awake and in pain.

Let's hope for the best. Then Damon is still involved with Elena as well.

Yeah, Amara had a terrible destiny Elena's hopefully going to have a better one

He'll always be involved with her, she'll always be his main concern

Elena's bloodline is tragic...but she'll be the only one with a happy ending.

It's the perfect opportunity to see Damon dealing with loss and honoring Elena.

Yeah, it's the final step of his journey: mourning her and living without her, and deciding to be human for himself
