Elena is the victim of an evil plan. So unfair. Yes that scene was really heartbreaking. He didn't understand what was going on. He thought he was losing her. A pity that they didn't show the part from the promo. Damon shaking Elena, kissing her forehead.

Still hope for it to be in the deleted scenes They should have kept it, Damon was completely freaking out there, he couldn't control the situation and Elena was paying it, the kiss would have add a sweeter touch to it

I REALLY hope it's in the deleted scenes. Because you actually see his reaction after finding Elena. And that's what I wanted to see...him freaking out. Episode 6x22 started in the middle of that scene. When Elena made that dying prank in 6x11, I had a feeling something bad would happen to her.
