Humans can't enter any head just bc the other person allows it. Only vampires can (even without permission).
It seemed to me Caroline gave the instruction to hold Elena's hand and trust and let go to let it happen, that's it.
Maybe that's me holding on to canon, but anything else would be ridiculous if suddenly humans have that power

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Jeremy and Alaric were alone with Elena, so no vamp doing the power magic.
Not that it really matters, but anything else doesn't really make sense IMO

EDIT: Ooooh ignore me. Part of me forgot Elena is human too. Then yes, canon goes out of the window anyway

Nah I'm sure you're right. The little part of me that still tried to put logic into this mess of storylines forgot that Elena was human and didn't have the power either

I liked DE in this episode and I'm glad we got a Alaric and Elena scene. Also Jeremy, Tyler and Matt scenes with her.

I'm happy Nina want to come back for the series final but this episode is my series final. I didn't like some things but there are worse series final or season final out there
