Yeah I heard more DE fans saying that. They were already good people before they met each other. They just made each other better.

I'm glad they're showing that they're miserable without each other, don't get me wrong, they have big issues with life and love, so them being each other anchors is great But... it's just... I wished to have seen more, I wished the writers could dig a little deeper and show me Elena discovering and talking about her passion to want to become a doctor BESIDE her father's job And Damon can be good too without her, he proved it many times, so why reducing hsi character to this? I know and approve Elena is his North Star, his constant, his moral compass, but they could have shown him doing good without her too, along wiht lashing out for her "death"

Oh no I understand. I also like the romantic idea of DE "not being able to live without each other." But we also know that Damon did good things without Elena. And yes, it's a pity that Elena's character was kinda shallow in season 6. Don't get me wrong...I loved her as always. She was a sweetheart, but she was just "the girlfriend". Elena was much deeper in the earlier seasons. Bad writers.

They're still the best written, but no shame in admitting that after season4 the writers were less and less interested in writing them as characters, more as a couple Which is great, but they deserved better for sure, and I don't want another season for them to destroy the best of Damon still there

True. I loved all the DE stuff, but their characters were much deeper in earlier seasons.
