A NEW THREAT ON THE HORIZON — After realizing the downward spiral he was on, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) decides he’s going to turn over a new leaf and that his actions moving forward will do right by Elena. Lily (guest star Annie Wersching) prepares for the arrival of a special figure from her past, while Enzo (Michael Malarkey) stands by not sure what to expect. Elsewhere, at Caroline’s (Candice King) urging, Stefan (Paul Wesley) comes face-to-face with Valerie (guest star Elizabeth Blackmore) and learns some upsetting details about her past, while Enzo and Bonnie (Kat Graham) find themselves at odds when they’re forced to fend off a violent threat. Finally, when Bonnie learns some disturbing information involving the Phoenix stone, she is forced to confront Alaric (Matt Davis).

BENZO ?????? not sure how i feel about this yet.

ok so jo is not really jo. but rick still wants to help her and has feelings for her? such a weird storyline.

im glad stefan finally knows the truth about the baby. although you know that is going to bring major problems for steroline.

I agree. I was interested in everything in this episode except for Steroline. They are not doing anything with Caro so far this season. I wouldn't have expected for Caro to be so out of the loop with everything already at the beginning of the season if this is bc of Candice pregnancy.

I liked Bonnie/Enzo, Stefan/Damon/Valerie and not!Jo/Alaric ... I'm really interested in how everything is going to play out.
I loved Jodi back on my screen and she did such a good job with playing this character whose soul is trapped now in this strange world/body. But I can't imagine that this will have a good end.

The only downside was no Matt and very little Caroline. I think I've said this before, but I really wish the writers would have waited until Candice's third trimester before they put her on the back burner. Only 5 episodes have aired and this is already the second time that Caroline has been in the background. What happens when the pregnancy becomes obvious; will Caroline be reduced to 30 seconds in a bed per episode?

I think they just want to focus on the heretics as much as possible now to get people to care about them. It looks like Candice is already in her third trimester now so I think she will have given birth by the time they come back from winter hiatus. Maybe then she'll get more screen time in the final chapter of the season. Unless they're planning on incorporating her pregnancy then she should get more screentime sooner.

I thought this episode flowed well. Unlike the previous two that were all over the place. I really enjoyed Damon. This is the classic Damon I loved from season 1 and 2. I've started to sympathise with Valerie more. I enjoyed the Bamon, Baroline, Steroline and Defan.

I can't enjoy Bonenzo and that's because Enzo is such a fail of a character. He just keeps on doing stupid things and Bonnie deserves better. This thing with Lily makes me cringe and laugh at the same time.

E.t.a I take back my sympathy for Valerie. After watching the full episode I don't get why she can't just tell Lily the truth. Instead she tries to turn Damon against Lily even more which is useless since Damon already hates Lily. Valerie must hate Lily too and if she does why not just leave? I don't get her.

this episode was pretty boring, my least favorite so far.

i think that stefan and caroline were adorable at the beginning and its classic damon to walk in on them.

but i can see the valerie/stefan thing coming from a mile away and i dont want to deal with it. UGH.

damon needs a lot more to do!

im so so so over their stupid mom and the heretics. but i know we will have to deal with them all season. snoozest.

and an episode focused on alaric plus bonnie/enzo is not one that interests me.
