GOODBYE, MYSTIC FALLS — In the aftermath of Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo’s (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) powerful nuptials, things take a dramatic turn when an uninvited guest shows up, leaving Elena (Nina Dobrev) in terrible jeopardy. Despite Matt’s (Zach Roerig) advice to leave town to protect herself, a defiant Bonnie (Kat Graham) takes matters into her own hands after finding herself on the receiving end of a twisted plan. As Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) reach an emotional crossroad in their relationship, a reunion with Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) leaves Tyler (Michael Trevino) faced with a decision that could change his life forever. Meanwhile, Lily's (guest star Annie Wersching) reckless actions cause Stefan to realize the lengths to which his mother will go to reunite with her “family.” Finally, after a devastating chain of events, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is forced to make the most difficult decision of his life. Michael Malarkey also stars.

what a sad freaking finale!

jo died, liv died... liv's end with tyler was good but wtf, jo didnt get a goodbye at all?

tyler was awesome this episode... the first time i really cared about his character so it sucks that Trevino is gone.

i love how damon saved bonnie. that was so sweet and really showed how much he's grown.

the s/c scenes were great and i liked that stefan essentially said he cared more about damon then elena (even if that probably sucked for e/s fans to hear)

but the final s/e scene was pretty cute, considering. its comforting to know that the vampires will be around long enough to see her again.

the bonnie/elena moments were great, especially because if nina does come back in the finale and bonnie dies they won't be able to share a scene together.

even matt/elena got a scene together too, how sweet.

JEREMY! OMG. that is amazing they were able to get steven back for that episode.

what a cute jeremy/elena scene!

but the rest of the elena stuff was great.

the d/e scene was super cheesetastic but it was also really adorable. a great ending for them and i love that theres still hope for them. that someday elena will wake up. how perfect.

THAT LAST SC SCENE MY HEART CANT HANDLE IT. HER LITTLE SMILE SGDSGGDGD.

its weird to say but i don't think i am gonna miss elena all that much. nina yes, of course, and definitely DE but idk, we'll see.

This show is so disgusting at times. Not only do they have Tyler 'mercy kill' Liv after they confess their love for each other, but they brutally kill Jo and her unborn babies at her wedding. Just ick

SE and SC were precious!! Stefan is amazing... that is all!!

yeh i hate that jo and her unborn babies had to die. that was not necessary at all

and i hate that kai had to die (i know its cuz he has a new show coming in the fall on the cw) but he truly was a great villain to watch on the show. total psychopath.

the goodbye scenes were all so emotional to watch. the c/b/e scenes at the end was the best.

it was nice to see jer again, but its a shame he had no real screen time with bonnie. i wanted to see them reunite

I'm going to stick my neck out and offer a different opinion. This is a vampire show and there has been plenty of murder. I didn't find this anymore shocking or brutal than when Klaus killed the Mayor. What at least gave Jo's death weight was seeing Alaric's grief. Frankly, I'm glad Kai was truly terrible and JP and company didn't try and redeem him. For once a villain wasn't kept around to long or changed to the point that made them stupid.

I loved dalaric en delena and what not, but I gotta spill my bricks quickly before talking more about this episode Haha.

Couldn't they just turn bonnie into a vampire, have her drink the cure and then let Damon drink it? Or am I missing something, because it bothered me a lot.
