So I wasn't paying the closest attention to the episode, but I think I got the basics...

Damon - way to be super oblivious and completely forget how diabolical and sinister Kai is. You tried...

http://img.pandawhale.com/77827-Dani...ied-a-c7Zn.gif

Stefan - Bitches get stitches I guess . How completely random for some dude from a time we didn't see get to try his hand at revenge. Couldn't have picked any of the actual people/families we saw you mess up? Hell even the family of the murderer he killed in s4 wanting revenge would have been better. The 1st MMF victim wanting to kill him for munching on her would have been better. Even the random people's family from 3x01 that he murdered with Klaus would have been better. So stupid. Then that break up just made me wish for some theme music...

Caroline - Honey you are just...

https://nyobetabeat.files.wordpress....if?w=370&h=243

Bonnie/Enzo - Taking lessons from the devil is not a smart idea, but ok. Glad I had my BE back, even if he's still dead. At least we know Enzo is safe from a fiery hellish afterlife.

Alaric/Matt/Cade/Random dude - Go. Away.

CobraKai1972 - My sassy bitch is back :sigh:.

Only thing (aside from Kai) that I'm happy about is 3 episodes left :yay:! Almost over :thud:.

klaus mikaelson was mentioned

klaroline is endgame I knew it

Hummelchen 02-18-2017 06:45 AM

Urgh. How are they going to fix this mess within only three more episodes?

The only thing that stood out for me in this episode was how angry Damon made me.
I'm probably going to upset some Damon fans, because in their eyes he never does anything wrong. But this episode was yet another proof that all he has ever cared about and all that he ever will care about is himself. Basically every single sentence was "Elena this. Elena that. Elena. Elena. ELENA."
He didn't really care about Bonnie and her grief. He didn't really care about his brother who just turned human. He didn't really care for Alaric who saw the murderer of his wife again. No. All he cared about was hus happily ever after with Elena.

But what else is new??? :lmao:
He'll probably get his happily ever after in the end and Stefan will sacrifice his life, because the writers wouldn't dare destroying poor Damon's endgame.

Am I the only one who thinks there's been too many random guest stars this season?

No. However, Kai is always welcome imo .

As self-centered as Damon is (and was in this episode at certain times) I can't really condemn him for working with Kai to get Elena back. Yes it's insensitive to both Bonnie and Alaric, but the guy saw possibly his one opportunity to bring Elena back and he took it. When hasn't one of the other characters gone to extremes to get their way? Caroline straight up murdered Liv's brother to get Stefan back. Bonnie's mom was turned into a vampire to save Elena. Everyone basically has done some shady stuff. These guys are not heroes. They don't go out of their way to save others, just a select few and themselves.

Truthisbeauty 02-18-2017 12:18 PM

Pretty much echo what you all have said. Found it a little frustrating and boring. Yes we know vampires do harm, even our heroes, and yes Damon is acting stupid again, Stefan mopey again, Caroline cleaning up messes again, Matt self-righteous again. Consistent, but with three episodes left, when are they going to make some progress? Best parts of the episode were that Kai was also consistent and hence hysterical and creepy--he had some of the best lines ("I'm on the waiting list for heaven but they are not returning my calls") and that Bonnie is actually able to outsmart the devil, even while acting reckless like Damon. I liked the idea that she too created her own dimension, keeping Enzo safe, and although I still feel their romance was forced on us in the flash-forward, I found it a very romantic idea that she could see him again. I didn't get why Kai thought eating blood would keep him out of hell or how he was able to disappear with Elena's casket. I'm not sure how I feel about Ric's kids possibly being important (again) to the plot; it could be exciting or annoying, except that growing up in a witch family must have been seriously dysfunctional!

Does anyone know if the season finale is two hours? Gd I hope so.

hurricane eyes 02-18-2017 02:26 PM

I believe the final episode is 1 hour, but I heard there's a "goodbye" episode from the cast before that. I don't know if that's true though...:shug:.

I wish so, but I doubt it  :(

I liked the episode very much   I mean, not much actions (but they seem to balance that next week :sigh: :eyebrows:) but a lot of feelings I didn’t think I would have felt tbh but I did :sigh:  Good to know they still can make me feel this way

THE BAD:
So now turning a vampire into a human again makes everyone remember you compelled them?!?!? Buahahahha, I’ve never ever witnessed a much more pathetic and hilarious plothole!!! :lmao:   What about Elena then? And Katherine? And even Alaric? My god, 8 years and they still play as much as they like with their own rules, I’m speechless  And for what? Dorian going after Stefan and then changing (thank god!) his mind in less than an episode?  The second Stefan was kidnapped I knew it was Dorian and he would have jumped up from Stefan’s past, it’s always like that, the whole scenes were pointless, only gave me an heart attack for Stefan  :pout:

Alaric: my god, I’ve never seen someone ruined so much in relationships, I’m amazed how he accuses others to think only about themselves when he spent the last 2 years only wanting to protect his daughters and everything else be damned!!  He’s right to do so, so let the others do the same for those they loved, especially bc it’s Elena we’re talking about, I thought I small part of him still cared about her, guess I was wrong    And unless they'll use their powers to do something meaningfull like killing Cade or bring Elena back, I couldn't care less about the twins not controlling their magic, sorry :P

THE “MEH”:
Matt: he has courage to reprimand Dorian about “moving on” and “let the past go”, when it’s basically 4-5 years he keeps complaining about all the bad things that happened to him bc of his friends, I was like “Seriously?!?!”  But he was less annoying and dumb than in other episodes, and he even apologized to Caroline, so I’ll give him the benefit of doubt :P

Bonnie: Less annoying than usual to me, going to Cade wasn’t such a smart decision, but she resisted his powers and she did it for love, so I can’t complain neither ;) :D Also, loved the Bonenzo scenes, the kisses were so passionate :sigh:  Wondering whom this AU she created will be for? Bc they surely created it for a reason, maybe to give and alternative happy ending to someone? :look: I’m curious

Cade: is “meh” again, being the devil I’m expecting him to be more evil, more twisted, doing more wrong things… hell, even Kai was more twisted than him in this episode, why is he always so calm and cold?!?! :pout:

THE GOOD:
Stefan/Caroline/Steroline: not his fan n.1, but I’m glad he didn’t die, nor I want him to for whatever reasons, hope the writers will fix things with him and Caroline bc I felt something for SC again in this episode after a long time, and I want them to get their happy ending, I don’t like them to be divided by circumstances  :spank: The guilt trip is a bit annoying to me, and I want to see Caroline being something more than “the one who cleans his mess up” but I loved how he found the strength to come back and not giving in the hell staring at her, found that romantic :sigh: :melt:

Kai Parker: god, I missed him so much!! :sigh:  Beside the end where I hated him with my whole heart (not that I expected him to help Damon, but allow me to be mad at Kai! :P)it was a ray of joy and fun and snarky attitude in this show, I missed him so much  ____________________  The performance was brilliant, he was funny, twisted, he made me laughed, he annoyed me to no end, he acted like a villain and got what he wanted, I love to hate him and I hate to love him  :sigh: :spank:

Damon: missing the problem of him trying to bring Elena back with any resources he finds tbh  He loves her, he wants her backs, he’s ready to do anything to achieve that. Easy like that. Not the first time for him or any other character in this show, it was proved many times they’d do anything (even not totally fair) to save the ones they loved, and they’d make a deal or team up with the worst of villain (Klaus, Katherine, Silas, now Cade, even Kai in s6) to do that…. So I wondering why is a problem only with Damon? :look:  I agree he was dumb to understimate Kai like that, he should have been smarter and known him better   :spank: For the rest I’m proud of him trying to do better and not killing anyone anymore and believing redemption is possible, he grew so much and see the world and his life differently now :sigh: :in_love:

Loved Kai/Damon dynamic so much, kudos to Chris and Ian for the performance, the annoyed look on Damon’s face, Kai playing with him, the snarky dialogues

Pretty much this. Damon always gets away with it though.. he gets away with it by the audience and by the actual show itself... where as Stefan literally has someone come back from his past to make him feel even more guilty about everything he did as the ripper!! It's just bullsht..... I have never said that these characters are heroes, but there is a vast difference in how everything is explained away and forgiven for Damon, yet Stefan is always getting the sht kicked out him by the fans and by the characters in the show for what he has done, it's a goddamn joke!

Would someone be so kind as to please tell me why Katherine dies of old age when she takes the cure, but Stefan doesn't? I know there is probably an explanation for this, but i guess i didnt catch it.

Because Silas took the cure from Katherine which then rapidly aged her. If someone drank the cure from Stefan presumably the same would happen to him.

Thank you!!!
Follow up question then, if you dont mind please.
So is Elena safe from Damon taking the cure from her because only 3-4 years have passed?
Caroline should probably take the care first and then give it to Damon then because i guess this would mean Caroline and Elena would be safe in this scenario.

Yes. It all depends on how long you were immortal. Elena had the cure taken from her (by Bonnie who injected Stefan) so she's aged into her 20s I believe. Caroline, or any newbie vampire, could take it and have it taken from them without dying of rapid aging.
