I keep expecting for Tyler not to be dead even though I've seen that he's dead in a trunk (and now dead in a coffin from that producer's preview in the OP). It's just not right. I wonder if he'll end up in "hell" because he "killed" Liv and maybe they'll find a way to bring him back from hell.

This episode was okay, nothing special...

Loved seeing Matt next to Caroline <3. And the scene at the carnival was cute too. Before it was ruined.

I was hoping we weren’t gonna have to see Sybil for one episode. I’m also confused because Sybil mentioned Elena, but why would she do that if she tried to make Damon forget her? But I'm glad she wasn't in it much.

I actually miss Georgie!

I’m ready for them to get Damon back, it was fun to see Evil Damon at first but I’m ready for that SL to be over. The DS stuff was a bit cheesy but I still love it because I love them.

Bonnie was being pretty dumb by testing Enzo and then passing out but I guess it worked because he saved her. They were pretty cute, they’ve grown on me this season!

This episode bored me.

I like that Caroline said that Tyler was more than a small town kid. A callback to that time Klaus insulted him.

Has Enzo even met Tyler? Really weird to have him comment at the funeral. He should have just kept quiet. Also Bonnie saying Tyler sacrificed himself for them. When though? This whole using Tyler as Damon's redemption prop is so dumb that they have to make stuff up.

Ok, I'm glad one of them finally said ILY, but I was hoping the scene would be a lot more emotional.

At the end of season 3 he let Klaus possess his body so they wouldn't all die. In season 4 he stood up in front of the church knowing that the vampire hunter would recognize him and took a wooden bullet to the chest so the others wouldn't risk getting exposed.

This episode was a joke. Poor Tyler deserved better than what he was given.

He got a funeral that was not about him at all. I mean at least Bonnie's funeral was full of emotion and was about her. Even Pastor Young from s4 had a better funeral than Tyler. What a mess.

The only good thing was Bonnie and Enzo, but even that was weird considering she was willing to burn alive just to get his humanity back. I love them, but that was too much for me.

This was the first time we've heard one of the brothers say ILY to the other, right? We waited so long, I thought the show would've made a bigger deal out of it.
They're probably saving that for the series finale, tho. I still predict we're going to get a Dan/Keith (from OTH) type ending with Defan.

The Tyler memorial didn't emotionally work as well as the Japanese ceremony in 4x02 or the Bonnie Remembrance in 5x04, partly because no one except Matt seemed that sad, but mostly because no one except Matt & Caroline really loved Tyler. The kind words sounded so phony, especially coming from Enzo. What happened to Enzo being the outsider of the group, who was recently almost killed by Stefan? They just breezed right past that, it seems. Also, Jeremy should have definitely been there, altho a part of me is happy he didn't because he most definitely would have been the next one killed by Damon.

Things I'm liking: Stefan and Caroline. Their relationship is a stabilizing force in this unpredictable world right now. And I like seeing Stefan happy.

BONNIE AND ENZO! Damn, I don't ship easily (Delena is the only couple I ship on this show, but if this continues, I'll end up shipping Bonnie and Enzo, too!) In fact, I just like Enzo in general. It almost feels blasphemous to say this, considering Damon has always been my favorite character, but right now, I'm liking him much more than Damon.

Which brings me to . . .

Things I'm not liking: The whole siren storyline. It's more than just the fact that I find it lame. I also don't like what it's doing to Damon. I think the issue here is that, even though Damon has flipped his humanity off, he's not really in control of himself. So we're left with a humanity-less Damon who is very much a puppet right now. When the show has gone this route with Damon before, he's always had this sort of evil glee about him that still makes him fun to watch. Right now, it's just kind of pathetic because he isn't even in complete control of his own evil deeds.

Things I'm intrigued by: Bringing the 2 little girls into the siren storyline. That ups the stakes significantly.

I wasn't even going to watch the episode until I heard about the Defan scene. Even then I only watched the Defan scene and the Bonenzo stuff. So imagine my disappointment.

My god, next time I get exicted for a pilot and think the season will be as good as it, punch me in the face please
If we were in season2 or 3 by this time we would already have to deal with big bad villains and already fought them a couple of times… and the two sirens are anything (creepy, annoying, etc) but great villains, still wondering why they didn’t just kill off Sybil, with Katherine or Klaus they didn’t think twice about it… failing, but at least trying Instead they keep talking and talking and talking without doing anything, my god how boring And SLs makes no sense and it’s not exciting or intriguing, it’s actually boring and irritating, a last season should make old characters more appealing, not the contrary


Wow, I’m touched by how devastated everyone looked by Tyler’s death (beside Matt of course… but that’s what he pretty much only does now, complaining and crying, so whatever ): his funeral n.1 was so hurried up and not at all about him, no tears, not speeches, nothing compared to Bonnie’s one, it was like they were burying the icecream man Then they regained time and gave their speeches: now, beside the fact I’m still wondering how much Enzo knew Tyler to have the right to give a speech about him (not against it, I just find it ridiculous, Jeremy coming back would have suited better and been more touching and meaningful considering they were friends for real!), I find quite disturbing that Caroline not only downgraded her love story with him with a “We ALL loved him” but she also chose Tyler’s mother’s killer’s words to describe him. Seriously?!? She had nothing better to say than confirming he wasn’t a small-town boy?!? That’s all she remember about him?!?! I won’t even comment Stefan’s words… I’d find them heroic and leader-alike if they weren’t another not-so-sutble way to insult his brother and show how much he’s better than him, 8 seasons and we’re still at this point


The carnival scene was quite ridiculous and disrespectful to me Yeeeeeah, our friend is dead, another is in coma, we don’t care about the other one with hell issues, but hey!, let’s enjoy the time together and have fun, we who are free, happy and alive, that “honors” them so much! No, Rick, I’m sorry, Elena would have been proud of you enjoying carnival in any other moment, but not THIS, she would have had the decency of REALLY mourning a friend, not sweeping him under the rug like he’s old story already


Wish I could still give a damn about Matt Donovan and his broken feelings and but truth is either he irritates or annoys me every time he comes up on my screen, and now they even had this “brilliant” idea of involving him in something he clearly would rather not to be involved in, and this thanks to the fact Tyler died… how genius of the writers, just what we all wanted! Not to mention that words can’t express how little I care about his family issues with daddy the dearest, season8 is quite late to introduce him and problems he has with his son, can’t believe the waste ¾ of scenes for them

The nanny is creepy AF, why the nannies always have to be creepy AF, mine wasn’t!! The nonchalance with whom she helped the girls burn the fish (and start the whole thing) was unbelievable, no wondered she grew up as a cannibal Still miss to see the point in making Stefan forget the whole story when next episode they already re-discovered Seline is siren n.2 but oh well…


Josie and Lizzie are adorable, the initial scene with Rick was so cute, didn’t realize how much I needed to see it until I saw it, Alaric deserves this after all the sufferance


Enzo/Bonnie scenes saved the episode pretty much, Bonnie still have to work in thinking plans not so extreme, but she made a point, good job! And Enzo coming back from the switch-off saving her was so romantic, the whole scene was really well-played, Kat/Michael chemistry is so on point Don't uunderstand why they created the whole swtich-off thing though, considering it lasted less than a cat in a highway, but oh well


So we’re at episode 5 and Stefan already gave up and swept his brother under the rug… or in a coffin to be more precisely, because “Buh buh he’s bad and a lost cause and IDK what to do” and, let’s be real!, he has zero ideas how to bring him back:



Wonder how disappointed they would have been if the same had been done with them in their switched-off/ripper/depressed moments? But hey, it’s Damon, he cannot dessicate by his own choice to take his hallucinated!dangerous!self out of the equation but he surely can be tricked and condemned to a painful sleep by others… because double standards everywhere and makes much sense Glad Stefan had the decency to feel sorry at least


Damon is as confused as I’m about his situation… which doesn’t sound so promising, hope this won’t turn out as a giant plothole, bc they can’t be THAT incompetent, can they?!? I hate this SL so much, it was funny to see him in his season1 shoes again in the pilot, now it got oold already, not to mention he’s not in control, he’s just a puppy, as a main character he’d deserve better I hate he’s following the siren and let his non-emotional side take over, because I get the hell is scaring but this is not good at all, wake up Damon or I’ll make you!! Still waiting for some exiting plot-twist, but I’m giving up, they’re simply at lack of ideas His face at the carnival broke my heart, pity Stefan's words ruined the whole scene


Dalaric feelings everywhere btw, it’s so good to see Rick caring so much about his almost-brother, defending him, being worried about him and still believing in him, that’s what Damon needs and deserves, glad that he has at least Rick now, with Elena gone
