6x08 - Fade Into You - November 20th EXTENDED PROMO | STILLS | WEBCLIP I | WEBCLIP II FRIENDSGIVING AT WHITMORE COLLEGE / FLASHBACKS TO KAI’S MURDEROUS PAST — As Caroline (Candice Accola) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) prepare to host Friendsgiving at the dorm, they receive some hopeful news from Alaric (Matt Davis) and Stefan (Paul Wesley), who have traveled to Portland to gather some information regarding the Gemini Coven. Tyler (Michael Trevino) is determined to help Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) after she and Luke (guest star Chris Brochu) reveal some disturbing information about their witch lineage and the impending plans their coven has for them. Meanwhile, dinner takes a drastic turn when Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe), who has revealed some painful details about her past, finds herself fighting for her life, leaving Alaric scrambling to help from a distance. Finally, Kai (guest star Chris Wood) makes a dangerous discovery that brings him one step closer to his release. Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham also star. this episode was ok. this show isn't as addictive as it once was.

I have many thoughts on the episode, a lot of them good, but I just want to ask this first:
Why the bloody hell wasn't Alaric wearing vervain? Is there an obvious reason that I'm missing or was it a very very very illogical plot devise so Damon could compel Alaric? |

I feel like I should have seen it coming. It was so obvious - Jo not only being Kai's sister, but his twin. :facepalm: And the less obvious one; that Twitches are a part of her coven.

The episode had way too much exposition; the writing felt really clunky because of it.
The flashbacks were very creepy, I was afraid I'd have nightmares over it. Chris Wood is a pretty great actor. Matt & Jeremy should have been at Friendsgiving. The Tripp stuff could have waited. I thought Bonnie was stupid for believing that Kai would just let her go and I kept yelling at her to GTFAway from him when he was waving that knife around. Damon was such an ass for compelling Alaric, but Alaric was stupid for not immediately getting on vervain when he turned human. Damon didn't even give Alaric a chance to think of a Plan B that would save Bonnie without risking Jo's life. :rolleyes: The Steroline scene wasn't half bad this time. I legit laughed out loud when Jo was bleeding out and Liam started saying all this medical jargon, only for her to yell "Shut up, Liam!" The look on his face was priceless. Funniest scene of the season. :lol: Other than that, I didn't care about Liam. I'm glad he and Elena are over. |
yeah the "shut up liam" scene was great. although i am also glad they are over. he was cute but had no personality at all.
and alaric as much a i love you, that was incredibly stupid not to be on vervain. have you not learned anything over these past seasons hanging out with damon? so i understand why kai is in supernatural prison, but why was their father trying to kill Jo? wouldnt her death mean her powers go to kai? with the whole merging thing? **confused** |
