TVD Episode 5x05: Monster's Ball Discussion. Airs October 31st
COSTUME PARTY OF THE DAMNED – On campus, Elena is touched by a sad and secretive student named Aaron (guest star Shaun Sipos). Elena and Damon attend the Whitmore Historical Ball dressed as Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII. At the Ball, Elena shares a dance with Dr. Maxfield (guest star Rick Cosnett), who has a disturbing message for her. Caroline’s evening at the Ball takes her from happiness to heartbreak. Meanwhile, Nadia (guest star Olga Fonda) reveals her surprising history to Katherine, and Damon tries to make a deal with Silas. Silas’ demand that Damon commit an unthinkable act leads to a violent confrontation. Rules * Be respectful. Not everybody is going to agree with you, please accept that. Discussion is fine, but don't attack each other for e.g. supporting or not supporting a character. * No character bashing. Things like "I'm really not interested in xxx's storyline" or "what xxx did made no sense to me" are fine. Things like "xxx needs to die in a fire" or "I can't believe xxx actually has fans" are NOT. * Have fun. This thread is sharing your thoughts about the episode and discussing them. Don't let it get out of hand because you disagree with someone's thought process. __________________

Well. That was boring. Elena needs to stop with the whole 'it's my fault, I should have noticed sooner..' Thing. You didn't figure it out because you had the “summer of your life” doesn't everyone deserve that? Damon sure does.
Next week should be better. Finding myself more excited about The Origionals at the moment. __________________

I don't know why, but this episode didn't do much for me. It was kind of boring, until the very last scene which left me wanting to watch the next episode already.

STEFAN SILAS PAUL WESLEY
I love Stefan (always have and always will)... he is just so sassy and sexy and awesome Stefan head-butting Damon and then breaking his neck was a big cheering moment for me Damon is such a d-bag Silas is king and sooooo damn funny Most of his lines had me cracking up.. one of my faves was: "Oh come on, guy must've had some redeeming qualities. I mean we know he was obviously extremely good-looking" So cocky, but sooooo true Paul must be having a ball with most of these lines MVP - It definitely goes to Silas and Stefan aka Mr Paul Wesley __________________

That was a nice episode. I liked the story. I think the anchor to immortality spell must be Amara.

The anchor is the knife that Matt has or rather the witch who is possessing him. ****** First off I hope Klaus rips out Tyler's heart and shove it right up his a$$. You choose revenge over Caroline. O.K. I hope they incorporate an episode of The Originals, where we see Klaus kill Tyler. Then goes back to Mystic Falls and gets Caroline and takes her back with him. - He's going to be the last lover she's going to have after all. On a different note, does this means Tyler is leaving the show. Every time we watch this show they either have a party coming up. Or they have a party going on and it looks like the college years shall be no different. So Stefan must be completely dead in order for the spell, to be completely removed huh. So as long as the spell is intact, Stefan is going to have amnesia. So seeing that Silas is now mortal again. Does that break the spell now? Katherine is one lucky gal, she finds her long lost daughter and she's back to normal. (I think) My theory on why she is still alive: The immortality spell "cure" was created to turn an immortal human/witch, back into a mortal human/witch. It wasn't created to turn any other immortal creature, back into a mortal creature. The "cure" would work on a vampire, because a vampire is technically still human. Now, as long as she has the "cure" within her she would be a human. But as soon as the "cure" is drained from her body. It no longer has any effect on her and she goes back to being the vampire bitch we all hate/love. Too bad Rebekah was unaware of this, because she actually could've had children, aged a bit more. Then gone back to being a vampire, turned her children into some once they gotten older and if they wanted to become one themselves. |

I really liked that episode to be honest. I did not see the Nadia twist coming. The ending was great, loved the Ariel shot of Katherine lying there, great camera work.
Hope Katherine has immortality. |
