A NEW DANGER COMES TO TOWN — Elena (Nina Dobrev) tries to cope with the extreme highs and lows that are part of becoming a vampire, and Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) almost come to blows while arguing about what is best for her. Damon decides to help Elena in his own way and asks her not to tell Stefan. A stranger, Connor Jordan (guest star Todd Williams, “Chicago Code”), arrives in town and begins questioning Sheriff Forbes and Mayor Lockwood. Connor’s actions quickly convince Stefan that they are dealing with a dangerous vampire hunter. Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Matt (Zach Roerig) are surprised to see a girl they used to know, April, (guest star Grace Phipps, “The Nine Lives of Chloe King”), has returned to town and is enrolling at Mystic Falls High. At a town gathering, Elena comes close to losing control until Caroline steps in to help her. Finally, Damon confides his feelings to an unexpected friend. Kat Graham and Michael Trevino also star.

I hear this episode is better than the premiere which is good b\c the premiere was slow.

Well, Connor is the most exciting thing about this episode so far.

I like April, but she seems like a quirkier version of Anna thus far.

Aww, Stefan/Bonnie. And ewww, don't mention Jamie, gurl. Let's hope he stays gone.

OMG.. At first i was like this episode is so so. This new guy is bat shist crazy. Then teh last 3 scenes were a win for me. The ending was perfect and the best part of the episode.

Jeremy Jeremy why couldn't you be there with Damon to let him know Ric was there and heard everything he said.

Much better than the first episode.

Damon/Alaric scene had me bawling like a baby at the end.

DE drinking scene was hot.

So much good about this episode..
- Damon/Elena angst..yum
- Stefan/Bonnie moment..aww..I like seeing other members of the gang interact..it reminds me that they are supposed to be friends!
- LOVED the Caroline/Elena moment...I really hope vamp Elena brings on a bunch more C/E moments of quality girl time. Caroline is so awesome
- Lantern moment...*sigh*
- Stefan/Elena "fight"..because this seems to be one of the ONLY times Stefan has really stood up to Elena about Damon. Wow, I was speechless. I prefer Damon/Elena, but...go Stefan!
- Final moments with Alaric/Damon. I was SO suprised to see Alaric there! *cries* Oh Damon. How you repress your emotions.

That was the best TVD ep in foreverrr. Connor is a badass. Please let him remain one. I'm tired of villains with "layers". Damon/Alaric was very good. I loved Stefan/Bonnie.

My only complaint is that while Stefan calling Elena out was great, that scene was a big copout. Having Elena start crying hysterically about how much she's lost so that Stefan basically had no choice but to shut up and be nice and Elena didn't really have to explain herself was pretty lame.

I absolutely hated the episode. I didn't watch the premiere and I was only convinced to watch this episode because it was Klaus-free, but never again.

I also thought it was absolutely ridiculous that they left Tyler out of the last scene. He was shot TWICE for them and then they cut him out of yet another group scene?!? It's just such a slap in the face. He's my favorite character and it's just a shame how poorly they treat him.

The only other thing I liked was Conner and his gloves, but that's it.

Will not be making the mistake of watching again. I quit way back in mid-Season 3 and it's going to stay like that.

I really agree..I appreciated Stefan speaking up, because he always lets Elena's choices walk all over him..but it should have been a real discussion, without him having to be the gentleman again and leave it for another day.

Broken Crown, I thought maybe he wasn't there because didn't he go in the ambulance? Maybe he couldn't be seen out in "public" in case someone spotted him after he was shot twice and supposadly seriously hurt.

They could have waited to do it or they could have went to his hospital room/his house.

He keeps being cut out of everything and I shudder at the thought of what they'll keep doing to him.

Thats what I assumed too. Carol was all I have to call an ambulance people saw you get shot. So I just assumed he was at the hospital keeping up appearances and thats why Caro also mentioned Tyler's dad.
