I figured it was one of Bonnie's shirts but it does resemble the color of their graduation robes. She kept one of Damon's shirts as well so I figured shirt.

I've never even seen Bonnie wear red other than her grad robe, but I guess it could be a top or dress.

I think it can be that one It could be linked to the fact Caroline was staring at their pics of graduation too in the first scene too

I think it's from 1x14, when Bonnie and Elena got kidnapped by Anna's minion (Ben?) Bonnie was passed out in the bathtub and I believe Elena was making sure she was OK.

I acutally liked this scene so much, their smiles, so happy to hear each other voices and think to be soon reunited

Also I love how Elena lashed out on Liv/Tyler about Bonnie; not that I think they did something wrong in the end, nor that they were guilty of something, but I loved how protective she went on her friend... and how desperate she was when Kai destroyed the device
