I read it kind of skimmed through it because I want to read it through more when it's released. It was very interesting. I
 reading Stefan's thoughts. It has added so much. As for the spoiler tag part. Huh, I didn't catch that.__________________

Does it sound very different from the show, or pretty much exact? From the flashbacks we have seen.

Yeah, it pretty much goes with the flashbacks we have seen in my opinion. They just added some things that I haven't seen on the show. There is one part that made me go "huh".
