Because they are learning more about each every time they meet. because Grams trusts he will keep her safe because he believes in her abilities because he knew where she had gone without being told because she trusts him because he wanted to protect her because she "can't leave him" in the tomb because she wouldn't stop looking for a way to get him out of the tomb because when Stefan entered the tomb she tried to go after him  Bonnie lights a fire in the parking lot with her mind. Stefan: Bonnie... Bonnie... Bonnie! Hey. Bonnie: What just happened? Stefan: You were in some kind of a trance. Bonnie: Did I do this? Stefan: I think so, yeah. Bonnie: Nobody else saw, did they? No?
