Well holy crap, so far this episode is been really good!

the flashbacks were the only part of the episode I actually cared for. there were a few continuity things that bugged me.

A) The whole thing with Mikael had been that he only fed on vampires, I believe. Because when we first met him Katherine offered him some dude and he refused... but now he's feeding on Cami and Davina... I know he's hurt, etc... and he made the comment about desperate times call for desperate measures, basically..so I guess not a huge issue. but back when Elijah found him it appeared he was going to drain Davina after her bracelet fell off.

and I'm all for avoiding love triangles... but I am weirded out a tad by the whole Klaus/Cami things beside the fact I find her somewhat, uh, boring, shall we say.

Instead of one between siblings we have one between, er, father and adoptive son? Sure, Klaus and Marcel might not view themselves that way now, now they're... what? mentor/protege? frenemies? but the whole the last two episodes after Cami was hooking up Marcel is just... weird to me. I know they're not blood related but its just strange IMO. And after the whole showdown with Mikael is she going to go back to Marcel's place and shake up again?


Did love Kol's comment about Cami taking out the plastic bags when she takes Klaus on a walk. Because that's really what it is kind of like.

Yes, lets let go of the one thing that can kill me and give it someone easily overpowered. not only that, but in the phone call he lists the dagger, the white oak stake and then Cami? Like that's the most important thing on the list?

and the list kind of goes on.

The whole Esther/Elijah and the phone convo with Fin/Kol was about what got me through. Leah's a fine actress but the character of Cami...ugh. I won't get into anymore character bashing other than that. but just... ugh.

Honestly, every character who isn't a Mikaelson is pretty damn boring on the show. There are minor exceptions like Davina and Josh, and to each their own about Hayley, but I couldn't care for her even when I tried.

Cami however, certainly takes the cake.

I like Hayley when she's not fawning over someone or something - although I get it about hope.

I like Davina too... Josh, I mean, he's nice and all but I don't really have a strong feeling one way or the other about him.

My thing with Cami the last two episodes isn't even that I don't like the character... just that it seems to have thrown off the writing IMO.

Before she became a bigger player, you had Davina with Mikael enslaved due to her spell and Kol trying to gain her trust. You had Cami/Marcel sure, but Marcel working to establish a community of vampires with Elijah has the benefactor. You had this story line of Klaus/Hayley trying to convince what was left of her pack not to join Esther. Esther and Finn were off in the shadows doing stuff...

and now with Cami it felt more rushed and condensed and not as well thought out to me. Did we really need to see more of Mikael's hatred for Klaus? I felt like we had already covered that. I had liked the flow this season in some ways...

and while I liked the flashback and Esther/Elijah .... tonight it just felt disjointed. I don't know if it was the flashback for me or what but going from Elijah being memory tortured or whatever to Cami trying to therapy with mikael... it just seemed random.

Same here, I like josh but I don't care THAT much.

Ugh, I'm watching the ep and I'm just cringing at Camille trying to reason with Mikael about his beef with klaus. Dude, you are not everyone's supernatural psychologist. You aren't even a psychologist, considering you haven't graduated.

I was expecting so much more out of the flashbacks.. so disappointed with the flashbacks! Hopefully at a later time they will do more flashbacks with her to answer more questions.. cuz now all we learned in Elijah killed her and not Esther who cares we all knew she died! I don't know, I just expected more. Loved Nina's hair that way though!

Mikael has been bugging me as well.. with him breaking all his rules from when he was TVD, he would only fed on vamps and now he's feeding on humans.. I don't get it.

So finished the episode and wow loved and hated it.

Klaus - Badass mofo as usual, but ugh the scenes with Camille and trying to save her were just terrible. He was hilarious with Koleb and also loved his confrontation with Mikael.

Elijah - Dude... I felt bad for you. Having to relive all the horrible things you blocked out is hard, but damn you have almost as bad of issues as Klaus. He at least remembers his victims and embraces his nature while you just clean up and try to forget all about being a killer. I'm excited to see how this will play out since I would have thought he of all people would be all for body swapping and not being a vampire anymore.

Hayley - Meh. Just kinda there. Didn't mind your scenes with Marcel and fighting off Mikael (at least it's more believable than you being a million years pregnant and fighting him), but not much happening in this episode for you.

Marcel - Cute scene with Davina and liked your scenes with Hayley and protecting Klaus, but again not much happening for you.

Davina - Gurl ! I love you so hard. That was some badassness happening and I'm glad you gave Koleb hell for lying. But damn the chemistry with you two . Seriously the only Original ship I think I've had (aside from Klefan ).

Koleb - The sass alone was perfection. Just amazing and perfect. Would have loved for Davina to have seen the way you were treated by your siblings in flashback/visions...hope in the future. Miss my Nate .

Mikael - Too hilarious. It's like the writers just took everything people said about Camille on twitter and used it for his lines. Wish that you mentioned how damn bored you were talking with her, that would have been awesome. Loved his speech about his reasons and justifications on hating Klaus. Not agreeing with any of it, but it was some powerful acting by Sebastian. He was just amazing this episode. Need him and Esther to reunite ASAP.

Esther - I miss Mama Original. I hope she comes back in true form because as scary as Lenore is as Esther (better than the teen girl) I liked her before she was possessed. Also Esther revealing that Elijah killed Tatia and not her was pretty shocking, but anti-climactic at the same time. Maybe the repercussions will be bigger and better than that reveal .

Finncent - Guh he's such an a-hole and I love it. So much better than having the personality of paint drying.

Camille - I seriously would like to see your credentials because there is no way you are a licensed psychologist.

Flashbacks/Tatia - I thought her epic romance was with Klaus and Elijah was the weirdo stalker, but I guess they retconned that too. Not gonna lie though it makes more sense that she would be attracted to Elijah than Klaus since he was viewed as weak because of Esther's spell. The hottest chick in the village doesn't want the weak guy. Sorry.

Overall:



Not bad, but not great considering most of the episode was about saving the dumbest character ever. I swear Camille is making me hate her more than Elena...which is crazy.

And yeah seriously Danielle and Daniel have SO MUCH CHEMISTRY IT IS RIDICULOUS!!!! maybe they are secretly dating off screen as well and it's transforming in their work as well

As much as I love Josh and need him and Davina to reunite this episode was so packed that him being there wouldn't have made much sense.

I actually really enjoyed this episode. Full of family drama, I could have done it without Cami being kidnapped but I just ignored her.

Esther, man mama Mikaelson continues to be the boss as bitch, I really enjoyed her scenes with Elijah this episode, bitch is cray cray but I definitely enjoy the new actress way more.

Finn: "I despise voicemail" dude gets more awful and more hilarious in every episode. I like him.

Marcel, I actually cheered when he arrived and kicked Mikael, it felt like a mini justice league except that most of the members were pretty useless

Hayley was there too...

Mikael was great again, but I prefer Esther this round.

Cami .... does she really think her psychology will have any effect in Mikael? what is the point? my god make it stop.

Flashbacks were fine, I thought I was going to get a fest of love triangle but we didn't and I'm happy about that.

Koleb was BRILLIANT, loved his conversation with Klaus and Marcel, loved the fact that he's doing whatever he pleases and whatever he finds more convenient, he's not all there against Klaus and not all there with him either, I am curious on what he's going to do.

Davina, HUN YOU WERE PRECIOUS AND PERFECT AND BOSS and you made an awesome team with Koleb! I am kinda shipping it now tbh I also loved her scene with Marcel.

Elijah, I finally felt something for him? I finally see Daniel shining this episode, his acting was great, he got out of that robot Elijah mode FINALLY and it was really enjoyable. I miss the TVD Elijah, I hate the fact that everyone decides to ignore he ever existed... but this is the closest thing we'll get, Elijah realizing he's just as bad as every one of his siblings, but he decides to ignore/forget about those memories and pretend he's better than everyone else. Makes him seem less cocky and more vulnerable and I like that.

Also, the flashback with Klaus and Elijah was adorable and gave me sooo many feels

Oops I forgot to mention Klaus I guess that says a lot. I enjoyed his fight with Mikael again, his conversation with Koleb but don't care about him trying to protect Cami.
