SECRETS FROM THE PAST — In order to get through to Lily (guest star Annie Wersching) about Julian’s (guest star Todd Lasance) manipulating ways, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) confront their mother with painful memories from their childhood. However, when Lily reveals a dark secret she’s been harboring for over 160 years, Stefan and Damon are left questioning everything they’ve ever known about their family. Determined to prove himself to Lily, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) comes face-to-face with Julian and challenges him to a duel, but an unexpected twist threatens to complicate things. Elsewhere, Matt (Zach Roerig) finds himself in the middle of a deepening mystery involving the residents of Mystic Falls, and Caroline’s (Candice King) world is turned upside down when Valerie (guest star Elizabeth Blackmore) reveals some life-changing news to her. Kat Graham and Matt Davis also stars.

I wonder what the dark secret is. My guess is it was Guiseppe who forced Lily to stay away from the boys after she turned. I feel like they're gonna shift all the blame away from Lily

And even though we know Guiseppe was awful they'll try to make him more awful.

The episode seems Lily centric, which I hate, but it also seems to be Defan centric, so I'll watch.

i still not crazy about the alaric/caroline baby storyline

once again i do love the bonnie/ezno scenes

I couldn't tear myself away from the screen-glued from beginning to end! Very surprising cause I usually skip boring scenes, but nope, nothing needed the fast forward!

The Flash Forward stuff is definitely holding my interest. I'm wonder how it'll all come together and long it'll take to get there.

I'm starting to weirdly kind of like the idea of Caroline and Alaric. She just has chemistry with everyone!

It was nice to see Caroline and Matt interact again. But as much as I love Matt he feels a bit pointless on the show now. Either they need to turn him already or they need to have him leave the show.

im glad we didnt see the lesbians this week, they bore me. i prefer valerie, i just dont want her to get involved withs stefan.

the damon line when he says "she tossed us aside!" was heartbreaking. great acting there from ian.

I liked the sword fight and Ian was the MVP in acting, but otherwise, this episode was kinda blah.

In terms of action this episode was a bit slow but I enjoyed it because I really love SD and the side storylines. But this batch of episodes is definitely on the slow side. I think I will like the back half of episodes a bit more, but we’ll see.

Damon and Alaric in the FF confused me. Where did Stefan go? I thought that Damon and Stefan reunited. But still, these flash forwards are moving SO SLOWLY that they are just more annoying than anything else. I don’t think they are really needed in the episodes.

I am interested in the Matt storyline for sure. I like that these people were compelled to stay in the highschool and in the grill. I feel like its the heretics doing but surely it couldn’t be that easy. Valerie was tolerable this episode. At least she seems to have a sense of humanity still in her.

Loved to see Caroline and Matt interacting again. A part of me will always be sad that they never got another chance together. I am confused as to why the coven would put Jo’s babies into Caroline? Just because she was close by?

I like to see the brothers interacting. I am glad that Stefan finally told Lily about Julian and what he did to Valerie. I cant necessarily blame Lily for not believing Valerie though. Stefan drugging her was great though. I like this evil side of Stefan. Damon was so hilarious this episode too with all his one liners, but what is new?

Young Damon was so cute, he looked a lot like Ian! Lily making him eat the rabbit was disgusting. What was with the new actor as Gisepe though? Didn’t even remotely look like the old guy. He seemed like a horrid father though! Damon taking the blame for Stefan was so sweet. The flashbacks just felt like filler to me. I dont like Lily and no flashbacks will make me care about her. She ended up leaving later on anyways so sorry mommy but still dont like you.

Bonnie and Enzo continue to interact, which I like. It came on a bit suddenly though, I wish they had taken a bit more time with it. I was a bit confused with exactly what they were doing this episode. The small flirtation was cute though.

Enzo and Julian on the other hand? ZZZZ. Why do we care? And why didn’t Julian die?

I’m annoyed as hell that Caroline and Stefan had no scenes this week.

Very disappointed in how they are being written this season. Poor Caroline when she found out that Valerie lost Stefan’s baby.

Beau is gone finally. One down and 5 to go.
