I was inspired to write my very first TVD fic after intoxicated dreamer posted that she wondered what the ride home was like after Damon and Stefan rescued Elena in Rose . So I wrote about the "missing scene." It is Damon's POV and is Damon, Elena and Stefan.

It's been a week and no one has posted?

I haven't had as much time to read fic as I'd like because of the Holidays and I've been writing.

I would like to know if anyone has read any good fics they could recommend, especially DE fics.

Here's an excerpt from a story I started from the promo for Sacrifice. It's AU, and Delena, but Stefan is mentioned. He's there without being there. This is from Chapter seven and it's the Damon/Elena tomb scene.

“Hurry, Damon.” Elena pleaded.
“I don’t think Stefan’s going anywhere.” Damon replied, but he sped faster. They reached the old church, where Damon had entombed Katherine. Elena was out the door almost before Damon had parked. “Elena!” he shouted after her as she ran towards the tunnel beneath the church where the tomb was.
Elena ignored him. “Stefan! Stefan!” She called out. She searched the entrance but saw no sign of him or Katherine. She was about to enter the tomb when she felt Damon’s hands grab hold of her and push her up against the wall outside it.
“Don’t you dare!” Damon said, angrily. His grip on her arms tightened.
“Stefan’s in there, Damon, how could you let this happen?” Even as she said those words she knew she was being unreasonable. Damon wasn’t to blame, but she had to blame somebody.
“What are you talking about? I was too busy trying to save you from your crazy kamikaze mission!”
He was right. This was her fault. If she hadn’t gone to Richmond to find Klaus, Stefan wouldn’t be trapped in there with Katherine. She had to get him out. She tried to step forward, but Damon held her tightly so that she couldn’t move.
“Damon, let go of me!” Elena tried to pull free. Damon wouldn’t budge. He held her by her upper arms, just below her shoulders, leaving her hands free. “Damon, let go of me!” She beat against him with her fists.
Damon just stood there, silent and unmoving, as she unleashed all her anger and frustration on him, beating against his chest in helpless fury.
“Let go of me!” Elena struggled against him, but she couldn’t break free. At last, the maelstrom of emotions subsided. “Let go of me, please?” She pleaded with him.
“You done?” Damon asked. Elena nodded. He let go of her arms.
She started to defiantly step towards the tomb entrance but Damon held up a warning finger. He glared at her.
