I'm currently watching the vampire diaries and my friend reccomend to watch the originals at the same time for a better effect.
I'm halfway season 2 on the vampire diaries
When should I start watching the originals?
In what order should I watch them?

I hope someone can help me

Well, "The originals" as a show starts after season4 of TVD, cronologically speaking, bc until there they're part of Mystic Falls you SL completely: should keep watching until 4x23 and then start The Originals too,
