As much as I love SC as a couple/individuals this is the end of the story for the characters in canon for me. Anything more will be coming from fanfiction

I think like I said earlier it's because they are too simplistic in their writing and they don't stray away from these rules they created. Somebody had to die is one of the things KW apparently told JP. I didn't watch DC but I know they had a death there. And on show a show that's supernatural, death is even more likely. TO is probably guaranteed a major death too if they wrote their finale knowing it's the end. And the characters titled as heroes are the ones who have to make the sacrifices. JP was thinking of Bonnie dying which is also really terrible And imo they wanted to end if off involving the triangle somehow to bring it full circle but it just didn't work. It's not that I'm against the death of a character I love. It's the manner in which it happens that is important to me. And this just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. As early as when I found out about the engagement before S8 started I was considering one of them dying because if felt like they were giving us happiness too soon.

If that were to happen it would only happen in over a year's time so that's a very distant problem

I feel like Candice has closed the chapter on Caroline.

She doesn't seem very ambitious but I hope she auditions for new tv shows. I want to see her in a comedy/dramedy. I think she'd be perfect for something more lighthearted. I hope she stays away from The CW though Except for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. It's the only CW show that I think is great.

I thought a Steroline were absolutely beautiful in the finale. I am so glad that Stefan got Caroline's message and that Elena was able to tell her so. It was clear from Caroline's reaction that she got so much peace knowing that Stefan knew that she understood and that she would love him forever. "Tell Caroline I heard her, and that I will love her forever too" is the moment in the finale that totally got to me. So heartbreaking, but a beautiful moment.

I loved that moment too. At first, when I saw Stefan lean into Elena and whisper something to her, I was really scared he was confessing his love to Elena or something.

I hope she'll stay away from the CW shows too, especially TO. I can also see her in something lighthearted, nothing too serious and dramatical.

I don't mind the death at the end of the series either. But writers made it look like Stefan had to die because of terrible things he has done, like he was worse person than other characters. This treatment is really sad, and it's upsetting that in writers mind it's death that finally brought peace to a very sad and depressed person.

This was by far the worst way they could have killed Stefan whichever way you look at it. I honestly can't think of anything worse. It just makes zero sense that Stefan would feel he would owe Damon after everything especially S7-S8.

But from a ship POV it could have actually been worse. I saw a theory that Bonnie could have died and DC would compel SE to forget them and then SE would somehow meet each other in the future and be endgame. I think there were some fake spoilers about this happening. That would have been a nightmare for me One thing to be grateful about is that they kept SC intact right to the end.

Stefan clearly feels comfortable enough to dance with her, to the point that he's even enjoying it.

I still haven't watched the final episode. Pure denial here. Like if I avoid it, Stefan and Caroline are happy in tv heaven. I think it'll take me until mid summer to get the nerve. It's funny because my love for the show vanished for the most part long ago but these were the two characters I wanted walking off into that sunset. I know it's not a happy ending kind of show but I was hoping, praying! Seeing they got married and knowing that happiness did not last makes me ill.

^ Well if a writer can ignore 4 seasons worth of storyline then you can ignore 42 minutes I'm not even kidding since there was dialogue in that episode that were blatant lies. Let 8x15 be your ending.

So they basically have Stefan suffer all through season 7 and 8 and his reward for that is dying? How fair is that. I think it's even worse that they allowed him to get married and to truly understand how good his life might be now that he is human and has a wonderful woman that he can proudly call his wife, yet still had him pay the ultimate price. How could they do that to Caroline on her wedding day? I am so upset

They don't seem to care about Caroline. That whole boarding school was something they came up with because they wanted to use the set for a possible spinoff. It sucks to think they used her as a prop because they were thinking of ways to make more money. Though I actually do like the boarding school storyline as a future for her.

And they decided to kill Stefan after 8x15 was written. It was decided at the last minute and it shows in the lack of continuity and dialogue that can be easily refuted if anybody paid attention to the previous seasons. They always knew Enzo was dying which was why the BE story was written the way it was. It comes down to the fact that having a show that could last for so long inflated their egos to the point where they thought they could write anything and expect the audience to just go along. But I've even seen people who don't like Stefan and wanted him to die saying it was illogical So I'll never watch a show with these writers names attached to it again since they just insult their audience's intelligence.

So I've cycled through the stages of grief......denial, depression, anger and acceptance. And the best part of that is I can find humour in the situation. This legit cracked me up for 5 minutes. Just read the comments in the reblogs

I don’t agree that they only made Stefan suffer. They’ve made all the characters suffer at various times. It just sucks that it ENDED with Stefan’s death and thats the last thing his fans have to remember in the episode. I dont agree with some of the things the writers said and what lines they had Stefan deliver but ultimately it was his choice to die. I still think had he just been killed it would have made me way sadder.

That gifset is sad but cute. It started and ended in the hallway.

I'd like to see Candice on something else. They gave KC a sort of optimistic ending with that letter so we dont need actual scenes with them.

The "tell Caroline" moment was one of my favorites as well. How they chose to go back to it and reveal it was so sad and sweet. Gave me the feels.

Steroline fans can certainly watch 815 and pretend it ended there. Or yes, fanfic to resolve somethings sounds amazing.

I'm not disputing that every character has suffered at some point. And I don't begrudge the others for being happy. But for seasons, I've thought Stefan would end off happy in the end and Damon would end up with a proper season long redemption arc but neither happened imo. I would have preferred both brothers to make the sacrifice or for Damon to do it. But that's just because of the way I view these characters.

And I've accepted the writer's POV that Stefan was a hopeless case. It makes me less mad if I think there was a purpose for his death even if I hate it because it's not the path I wanted his character to take.
