 Welcome jules!  I wasn't sure how I'd feel about them, but I really liked their scenes. It is so refreshing to have an older vampire around for Damon to talk to, who understands him and his feelings and feels for him. The vampires we had in the show had shown Damon respect and acted as allies before too but she is the first one to really talk personal stuff with him, especially about his character, feelings etc and show such a great understanding of him... __________________

 Thank you so much for opening this thread, because even before watching the episode I just knew I'd love their scenes for some reason. I love their friendship and their scenes were great. I liked the chemistry and the way they could talk to each other. The way I see it, they're just friends (with benefits :lmao), and Rose feels for him and understands him. It's lovely!  Oh and can you please add me? __________________

Def. add me, I loved their interaction. I dont ship them romantically, but I think they have a great friendship starting and they could use each other right now. And Damon looking after her was sweet.

I did love the way he lifted her up and took her out of the cafe after being burned by the sunlight. That was very sweet.

 I don't really see chemistry between them but I think they make good friends. Damon could use an older vampire friend to vent off to and call him out on his crap when he is "pretending". In a way I think it helps him out in figuring the "vampire" stuff as well as accepting his own humanity/feelings better. Her explanation about the switch was very interesting, how they have it as a newborn but couple hundred years later it is no longer there. That may be why so many of the "older" vampires we have met seemed more interested in making it work with humans, I guess. And Damon finding out there is no way back, not really is probably going to help him along with motivating him more to find a way to deal with having emotions more as his "switch" has certainly entered its "malfunction" mode. And I also absolutely loved how he took care of her when she was hurt, taking her to safety, trying to calm her down, "feeling" for her. I like it when we see his softer side like that. I have a weird fondness for that "after sex" pose they had with Damon's head resting way back, looking at the ceiling. One gets the impression they have been talking a lot and it somehow lifting some weight off him, like he really needed to talk to someone and finally has a person. __________________

He usually backs down well people go "stop pretending, you so care and are not really the ass you want to come off as" on him.
 She definitely got what she wanted. I feel sad for Rose though. For 500 years she shared a life with her best-friend, running away and living in fear all the time because he screwed up but she was willing to suffer along as she loved him too much. And now he is gone and she is lost, with nowhere else to go. I think Damon can more or less empathize with that, himself. He knows what it is to devote yourself so much to people you love, selflessly. __________________
