In order to exist the other side needs a person that acts like a door between our world and the other side. When a vampire or any other supernatural creature dies they have to "pass" through the anchor to go to the other side. Amara was the original anchor but she died so they made Bonnie the anchor so she could also exist in the real word. Everytime a supernatural creature dies the anchor feels the pain of his/her death. I hope that's not very confusing __________________
