Agreed about the knife with how made no sense
 maybe when I watch the episode again will have some reasoningStill need to sit and fully watch the episode  instead of live watching|talking to a non-franchise watcher, so was distracted__________________

It was pretty good--better than I thought. I think people who never saw the other shows in particular will enjoy it. Don't think it will end up being as good as TO though, at least not for me. Like all of Julie's shows, it has some really transcending moments--Hope expanding the ceiling so that Landon wouldn't feel claustrophobic and then dancing with him under the stars brought a tear to my eye. Like all of Julie's shows, it has plot holes: did I miss it, or did we ever learn if the twins have a mother and where is she (i.e. Caroline)? Did Raf know he was a werewolf before this or did he just learn it, in which case why is he so well-adjusted? I surprisingly enjoyed seeing Matt (his presence made sense when it did) and Lizzie didn't annoy like I predicted she would (the actress is quite good), plus I like the interactions between her and her twin. Hope does not seem as complex or interesting to me, at least not yet, as she was on TO. Ironically the most dramatic events of her life are behind her--losing her parents--and we missed seeing how she dealt with losing her father and uncle. Thank god at least Alaric is looking after Hope (which makes her father and uncle leaving her on purpose seem more dumb.) However, if you start with this show I think you'll enjoy it more.

I think Caroline not being mentioned is what's bugging people the most so far
They really should just address it, even if we don't like the explanation, at least there will be one.__________________
