Literally this. Plus they have such a screwed up view of what a feminist actually is so it clearly could never translate on screen at all. I'm almost happy they never have women hanging out together because they would probably make them super catty and/or talking about boys since that's all women care about .

I think the earlier seasons had a little more substance than that, not Elena since she was always about some Salvabore, but Bonnie or Caroline always had other shiit (even human Caroline) going on. Now I'm pretty sure it's only about who wants to shag who and if someone is acting like a total hoe.

It really is when you think of the potential of these characters if only they had capable writers. I guess that's why people turn to fanfic, but I just can't get into it.

Ehh fanfic just depends on the writer

I always thought KC has a diverse fanbase, because everyone in it seems to have their own personal image or idea of what kind of ship it is

I think almost every fanbase is like that though. I think it really depends on what you are attracted to in the ship and if you like one character over the other more.
