I would have found it more weird if it happened in season 4 or 5 but SE are in such a good place as friends and Stefan has been giving Elena advice on Damon for a while now.

Plus it's the best chance to get a clear idea of what Stefan feels.

Is it just me or in this photo Caroline seems practically drowned in Stefan's arms... So either it's the devastating news, or someone will try to hurt her to get to him... Ideas?

So after watching the episode I think Stefan might have the existential crisis that Damon was talking about in the beginning. I've been trying to figure out what Stefan's storyline is suppose to be and after Matt's speech I can see Stefan going through a phase. We saw how baffled he was to her liking him which hinted to him not thinking very high of himself so maybe he'll think he's not good enough for her

Caroline might snap him out of it. All the characters do bad things but Stefan is the one with the guilt complex so he reacts differently.
