Yes. There are several different accents in U.S alone. The New England accent, Mid-Atlantic accent, Southern accent, Mid-Western accent, etc.

I see, but the difference is in the way you pronounce names or there are different words too?

It's more of a difference in speaking, but there are some things that have different words.

because they wanted the show to be watched worldwide and were aware that in places people don't understand the Southern drawl is the explanation I think. It does kind of make the whole show OOC for that reason though.

I speak for myself, but I wouldn't have minded for them to keep it, I mean, since English is not my native language, sometimes I have problems to understand what they're saying regardless the accent (the worst one was the hunter ins eason4, the scottish one

) and we have subs for that, some characters could have kept the accent
