It's true, i mean, if Katherine ever reciprocates I'll sure the numbers (in terms of the DK fanbase) will spring up. The thing is though, people are all over DE & Elena has shown even less interest in Damon than Katherine.

I think with DE, it's the CERTAINTY that Elena will reciprocate Damon's feelings that makes people love them so much. Along with other things ofcourse. With SK as well, there have been obvious signs from Stefan that he feels more for Kat than what he lets on. I suppose unrequited love doesnt sit well with fans. Especially if there is another option where the love will be reciprocated.

Btw, how DK is my sig?? I heard it on Pretty Little Liars and I just had to have it!

Ok, here's something to ponder. Do you guys think that season 2 Damon is compatible with Kat? I mean this Damon is radically different from the Damon we met in season 1. The old Damon that could rip someone's throat without a single thought. New Damon is softer and has a conscience.

At the same time we havent seen Kat killing anyone for the pleasure of it, either, only when she was necessary and suited her purpose.

There are certain things that could bring them together though. They are both VERY tortured souls and share a surprisingly similiar background. However, Kat is still a vicious beast whereas he misses being human "so much".

What do you guys think? Would it work?

I think it could, but he has to let himself love her. I think that the thing about Kat, is that if she really wants something, she will MAKE herself compatible

Like with stefan..I don't think they'd work really, but she'd do anything to make it work even though it might not on its own. So I really think all it would take is Katherine realizing she has feelings for Damon too.

I agree. If Kat truly loved Damon, I can see her morphing herself into whatever Damon desires. But what would that be? Damon fell for Kat BECAUSE of her vicious streak. He likes it.

He still wanted her after she tried to kill Elena`s dad. So maybe she doesnt need to change after all?

I agree, I don't think she does. I don't think Damon would require her to act a certain way. Even if he's softened up, his soft spot for Katherine is bigger than anything else.

I don't think K needs to change either.

However, if she ever grew a love for Damon, I think that itself would allow her to grow in a way. Not so much change, cause she's always going to be malicious in some type of way, but it'd give her more humanity in loving Damon.

I feel like a large part of the appeal of DE is Damon finding his humanity..if KATHERINE were to find her humanity..wow, I can only imagine

NOT TOO MUCH THOUGH!!!! Please, not too much. I want Damon and Stefan to be her humanity. That's it. That's where it begins and ends. Keep her dark, with a splatter of humanity that is only triggered by the brothers and ofcourse her family and child. That's how I also wanted Damon to be. Dark in general with occasional glimpses of his humanity that is brought on GRADUALLY by his love for his brother and his love for Elena. That didnt work out like I had hoped at all. I imagine Damon and Katherine to be the Anti-Stelena. Vicious but tortured souls who find their way back to their humanity through the love of Stefan and Elena and ultimately each other.

That's true - I don't want her to reach the level of humanity Stefan has or anything..but I don't see her as being able to be in a real relationship right now. I hope she softens up a little bit..but not so much that she wouldn't be our Kat anymore
