I liked the bonkai breadcrumbs in 814 it felt a little bit like closure, cuz Damon chopping his head off always felt so anticlimactic for me plus the he just left you line, I don't understand why Kai said it the way he said it if the show was trying to show that he was going to kill Bonnie, uncaring psychos just don't sound like that-psychos who care tho sound exactly like that I still feel sad about their ending but I'm weirdly happy bon didn't kill Kai, if only just so I can imagine that every few years she'll visit him and taunt him, their banter is just so

Even though Kai was a sociopath, I believe fans loved it because Kai couldn't feel anything yet he was very attracted to Bonnie. lol And he wasn't just a lame character, he was pretty twisted and dark and I think people thought it would have been a heck of a relationship. And of course the chemistry was there.

And this is another relationship where fans get upset about when it comes to Bonnie ships! the Bonnie ships that people REALLY wanted they never got. lol

The Top Three were
Bamon - No one wanted it more than Ian. lol
Kennett - Both KG and Nate wanted it.
Bonkai - Both KG and Chris Wood thought the writers were going that direction.

Of course that's why the writers ultimately put Bonnie with Enzo because they thought the fans just wanted some random vampire (dark character) or something but that wasn't the only reason why people were shipping Bonnie with those certain ships. lol JP even admitted to having Bonenzo happen because of the Bamon ship or something like that.
