They should have utilized him more given he had that connection to Klaus. I get the Mikaelsons gained in popularity, but they could have also given Tyler more to do than randomly leave every so often .

Tbh he should have gone onto the spin off as the werewolf/hybrid representative and teamed up with Marcel to take Klaus down than Hayley "no one cares" Marshall. It would have made a lot more sense imo. Plus he could have easily transferred back to TVD and to Caroline instead of just be in offscreensville forever.

If they were gonna kill him off, I almost wish they'd done it back when he had a bigger role on the show. At least then we would have got to see Caroline grieving.....

That was disgusting He was older than them as character in this show, he deserved better treatment They could have explore more his SL of alpha and his rebellion against Klaus (and make him win ) instead of ending it so quickly and pushing him into run

Wasn't he originally going to kill Klaus? When they changed their minds on that, the whole hybrids/Klaus storyline floundered & Tyler went from having a really heroic, uplifting storyline to pretty much nothing

If I remember correctly they wanted him to die in 3x22, don't know if by Tyler's hand or what I would have preffered, at this point, for Forwood to run away and come back later, stronger and more involved in the general SL, not used only for romantic ship wars only

At the beginning of season4, Tyler's hybrid nature was interesting and intriguing but they stopped that in the middle of the season, they didn't explore it rightly, condamned him to exile

Not just Caroline, but a lot of other people too like Matt and Jeremy. In the earlier seasons they didn't flat out ignore history and friendships the way they do now. He deserved something so much better than a half-assed goodbye at a carnival.

They never really felt all that close, it seemed to me like the writers were building it up to make them this super strong group, but then they all just came even further apart....

I know, they loved each other so much......I just can't believe it would all go this way, it's just bad writing.

It was really bad writing, there is no other explanation, from how they had written them before season 4-5, it made no sense how they broke them up and so on

Yeah, I can't even take it seriously, because the show has just so obviously become about fan pandering for the last few years.

I don't think it's just fan pandering anymore because if it was they would actually have fans excited and happy with the direction of the show. There's so many unhappy people with what happening and the only thing they're excited about is it ending tbh. I feel like it's just the writers having lost their creative voice and no longer caring anymore.
