TVD Episode 5x10: Fifty Shades of Grayson Discussion. Airs December 12th
  DAMON’S PAST RETURNS TO HAUNT HIM — Damon realizes Elena is in danger and enlists Stefan’s help to find her. The brothers pay a visit to Aaron (guest star Shaun Sipos), and Damon shocks Stefan by revealing his first-hand knowledge of Aaron’s family. In an attempt to stop Damon, Dr. Wes (guest star Rick Cosnett) unleashes his secret weapon, forcing Damon to deal with a part of his past he thought was gone forever, as well as the consequences of his decades-long plan for revenge. Meanwhile, Elena is horrified by Dr. Wes’ confessions about the dark history of Whitmore College and his own ultimate goal. Finally, a frantic Katherine turns to Matt for help, until she realizes that Nadia (guest star Olga Fonda) may be the one who can solve her problem. Rules * Be respectful. wow! what an ep! I loved seeing matt/elena hang out a bit and I'm not too fond of DE anymore, so I was glad they were done. I'm not really buying the Stefan/Katherine either. The other sls I didn't really care for. Wow damon and what he said to Elena. Wow!

I liked:
Stefan and katherine. Katherine was adorable in the first scene. Katherine and Nadia. I sympathize with Nadia and I hope that she will find some peace with her mother somehow. Damon and Stefan. They were good duo and it reminded of back in earlier seasons when I loved their relationship. Stefan was flawless. The ripper Elena comment  And young Elena. So cute Damon reminded me of how he was in the earlier seasons and I really missed that. My Damon appreciation has gone down for some time now so I think the break from DE will be good for him. The ep wasn't good enough for a midseason finale since a lot of the previous episode was repeated there weren't any surprises. They should have left the reveal of Elena's dad and Damon leaving Enzo for this episode instead. __________________

I want to know who was screaming in the basement when young Elena bounced her ball down the stairs.
I think it sounded like Damon. Hmm, but he wasn't there then in the, I"m guessing, the 1980's. Probably Enzo. Aaron is just too bewildered. Glad he is catching on to what's happening a little. |

I really like this episode but I agree that it wasn't enough for a mid season finale.
I feel bad for Katherine but I felt even worse about Nadia. Katherine prefers Stefan over her own daughter. As much as I love Steferine I didn't like that. I hope DE break up isn't permanent. I wish we could have seen more of Elena's dad. Still it was cute to see Elena as a child. __________________

DE breakup was so abrupt and unexpected. Honestly, I felt nothing. The scene left me indifferent. I guess it is going to be back to SE. Nothing trashier than a girl going back and forth between brothers.
Loved the morning after scenes with Katherine and Stefan. I ,love any scene with these two. I am also liking scenes with Matt and Katherine...odd pair to share scenes but it works. Matt and Nadia were also great together in this episode. I feel bad for Nadia, she is really trying to connect with Katherine. |
