If he comes back as a guest star it will most likely be as a ghost.
I don't see him coming back as a vampire or as human.
Who knows what the writers have in story for Alaric.

This is a supernatural show - death is hardly a signal to a permanent ending in a show with magic and full of loopholes.

If they want Alaric back, they sure as hell can figure out a way for that to happen.

So no, Alaric's journey is not over as long as this series continues on.

From what Matt Davis said on twitter, I think Alaric is dead, and he could possibly come back as a ghost to Jeremy! But well...this is The Vampire Diaries!

Yea... I think he might make a few guest appearance as a Ghost.

That is what i got from that last scene with Jeremy/Ric. I can't remember exactly what he said but something about still being there if he needed him.

I hated they killed him off.

I still cry watching fan vids. I loved Alaric, he was my #1! But it was a nice supernatural end to him. I hope we get some ghost interaction with Jeremy or some new 'flashbacks'.

I'm interested in seeing Matt's new show, doesn't really sound like something I'd originally check out but have to now since my man will be on it.
