I think he was just joking too, I frankly would find weird if not disgusting of Alaric/Elena hooked up
 Matt likes Nina a lot, they're so at ease with each other, but I highly doubt he'd suggest a romantic relationship for their characters  JP tweet made me laugh so much when I read it the first time __________________
