It was about protecting Jo, but all Damon was asking for was the ascendant and Alaric said we have to find another way. My point is the ascendant is already in 1994, so getting the ascendant from Jo isn't going to put her in any more danger then she is already. At this point of the story, she is in more danger from her father then she is of Kai. The father tried to kill her because the ascendant and bonnie was with Kai in 1994. So he tried to kill Jo, so Kai doesn't become the leader of the Coven. At least that is what I took out of it.

I don't hate Alaric. Just that scene was done to cause more angst between Damon and Alaric. Damon had to compel him and I didn't think it was necessary at all.

The tv promo had elena and damon on Elena's porch. You can see the porch swing in the background. The same swing damon was rocking on in 6x02. Can't wait for this scene. I'm sure damon will tell her this is were they had their first kiss.
