In #84 she was so cold. Besides, she called Damon awful and I didn't like that.

I don't get why they vote 84 either, I get non humanity Elena wasn't fun after the first episode for me but that is where she basically says she wanted Damon, not Stefan but chose Stefan because she was SCARED!!!!!!

I had the problem that I often didn't know if she was telling the truth without her humanity. I mean she also said in 4x19 that she never loved Damon,which obviously wasn't true.

I don't get it either Dianne! It's our moment of confirmation that Elena realized she made that choice in 3x22 because she was just scared. And 4x16 is the ep previewed by JP as where Elena tells the truth (like how you showed me it's always the next ep after an interview she means, that happened here!!!!)

Exactly! It's like that shows one of the moments that Elena was talking about in 4x23, when she said he made her feel most alive as a vamp. In that moment, we can see that! She's practically glowing!

Yeah I know but she only said that to hurt him JP said that even tho Elena says things there's a little truth in her hurtful words, except when it came to her love for Damon tho

Dianne mentioned once how it's always the next ep or two that JP is addressing. And if you look at her interview history in relation to the eps that's actually true. So since the interview about Elena telling the truth was immediately before 4x16, and Elena got royally pissed off in 4x17 because of Damon trying to get the cure and that was when they both started lying, I think that truth comment was only addressing 4x16. JP addressed the 4x19 comment on twitter and said Elena was just being "deliberately bitching" at that point.

Elena was speaking the truth in 4x16, that is confirmed by JP.
After that she became spiteful and cruel to get them off of her back and she was the most cruel to Damon bc he may could reach her
(That's why I actually liked her saying the awful things to Damon, I wanted that I would have worried if she didn't )

Same here. I can see why people liked it, but, Eh. Her heart was just nonexistent and put a damper on the feels, IMO.

Exactly! She actually seemed pretty honest, and wanted to be around Damon, until NY and finding out he was trying to get the cure/her emotions back (before she found out he was lying to her). Then she became angry (the first emotion she got back - like Damon-) and that seemed to dictate most of her actions until 4x22.

And btw it's not only the scared-quote that is interesting in that scene.
You can of course vote off what you all want but I just think it's a nice debate right now
It's the fact that Elena lashed out on everyone in 4x16 bc she didn't care what they think.
With Damon however: He put her on the bed and told her to stay there. She stayed! She even asked him how long she has to stay there without lashing out on him.
She asked for his opinion, she discussed with him, tried to convince him to still like her, when she didn't care if anyone else still liked her
