It is a damn shame that we never got to see Cheerios regionals or any of their competitions since it would have given the UT some focus that they lacked.
Plus, they had Heather, and cheerleading is based on gymnastics and dance, both of which Heather is the queen at doing, so why not capitalize on that talent and actually give us a legit Cheerios number? Wasted potential (aka the tagline of this show).

Holly marries Dave Martinez to solve his problems with the Immigration and Naturalization service (after they arrange a wonderful July 4 concert).
I just automatically thought David Martinez was gay, but maybe that's bc I couldn't see past the fact that it was Ricky Martin.

That is not relevant to my story.
Will crashes into a tree when he gets a phone call telling him Emma is back in critical condition.
Dave therefore has to coordinate the New Directions performance at Finn and Emma's memorial concert.
They get invited to perform a July 4 concert (with Kitty Dukakis making a speech and apologizing for her disinterest in the Blame it on the Alcohol performance). Of course he needs Holly's help.
He runs out when they start singing The Ballad of Davy Crocket. When Holly tracks him down at a bar he reveals he had an ancestor killed there fighting for the Mexicans.
When he doesn't show up at the concert she thinks that's the reason. He shows her the letter from the INS.
Then on the last day they are pronounced man and wife.
That could happen regardless.
When I started watching Glee I hoped it would be the first show in tv history in which gay characters could go several episodes without mentioning their inclinations because they were doing things the same way straight people might do them.
Adam Crawford however is straight. In the US everyone assumed he was gay because of his accent and love for the soft arts. No straight person wanted to be his friend so he started to play along, making excuses for avoiding sex. Kurt became his first true friend because Kurt didn't want sex. He's been in love with Rachel since he met her.
Santana discovers all his secrets and eventually finds out they're related:
If anyone is curious, Adam and Santana are both descended from Charles III of Spain, who ruled Spain from 1759 until his death in 1788 after ruling the Kingdom of Naples and Sicily before that.

Their line continues through his son Gabriel, who married Maria Vitoria, princess of Portugal.

Their son Peter Charles married a lower noble named Teresa, producing their last common ancestor Sebastian (1811-1875).

He married Maria Amalia of Bourbon.

Adam descends from their most prominent son Francisco, who married into the Romanov family.

Santana descends from their youngest son Gabriel, born in 1869.

Gabriel, with no inheritance due on the continent, married a wealthy Mexican widow and conceived abuela’s grandmother before his tragic death at age 20.

With no inheritance of her own she married Mr. Lopez, whose connection to the throne goes back to the 1600s. They lost all property during the Mexican Civil Wars that soon followed.

I loved Terri being part of Sue's League of Doom in season two.

I wonder if she ever quit working at Sheets N' Things...

Watching Silly Love Songs, another very strong episode of the series. Had multiple storylines going on that were all good, basically everyone got a very good amount of screen time and it wasn't centered on anyone, very ensemble. This is also the last season where RIB made sure that no one just sat around doing nothing the entire episode, unlike all the writers who came in for S3 and didnt know how to handle a cast this size.

Lauren Zizes is seriously one of the best additions to ND. Even though she never got to really sing, her attitude was great and she was very strong willed. Getting rid of her after the season is over was such a huge mistake.

Going back into the show knowing what comes along, it is very clear that the Santanas sexual preference wasn't thought out that much. While I am cool with her being lesbian, she should've been bisexual, it is much truer to the character. Even past S2 she gets turned on by guys every blue moon. Her slam on Finn at the beginning of the episode was funny. I wish we had gotten a little more Santana/Puck scenes to flesh that fwb relationship out a little bit more. The Zizes/Snixx fight was also great. Santana is never afraid to get physical with someone. Her revenge scheme was brilliant.

Since this is the first episode of the UT being out of uniform, they really should've dealt with their fall from popularity.

Blaine being in his prime is so refreshing to see again. He isnt some sad weeping sap and he had some major charisma.

Quinn/Finn rekindling their romance wasnt so bad, especially since we knew that they were dating for a while before we got introduced to them so it only makes sense they may still have some feelings for one another. Of course the writers just turn it into Quinn only caring about Finn for a better chance to win prom queen.

Considering they barely know what to do right re: Santana's sexuality, and the fact that they sure as hell don't know how to handle a bisexual Brittany or give that aspect of Brittany any thought whatsoever, I'm glad that they made Santana a lesbian, although it would work better if she didn't state her attraction to gay stripper Santa, hot though he is indeed.

But Silly Love Songs is the episode that made me fall in love with Santana, and for that I will forever love that episode.

I'd like to talk about Terri.
I saw only a few episodes of season one.
Her becoming school nurse was ridiculous, but that Glee's chosen form of humor.
Her having a 4.0 gpa makes no sense, but they're not good at math.
Obviously the fake pregnancy was grounds for divorce, but...
What else was there about her in the first few episodes that made most viewers want Will to dump her, and even endorse adultery in the process?
Prior to Glee, did any of you ever feel that way about any tv couple?
I think the few appearances she had after season one (especially The Substitute and Artie's dream) are on the short list of things done well over time.

Watching Sexy, another good episode, Santana/Brittany dealing with their feelings with each other head on was good. Though I wish Santana/Sam had been developed more instead of just being used to make sure everyone is paired up.

Holly Holiday was once again a delight to see. It sucks that she is absent from the 3rd season.

By the time we get to Regionals, it was disappointing to see them go back to their basic regular performance. Rachel gets the usual solo then segue into Loser Like Me which was written by ND sans Rachel but stars Rachel/Finn as the main focus.

Mercedes/Zizes teaming up was great, wish they had gotten a duet together.

The writers went to overboard with Emmas ocd issues and making sure that Shue was her first.

Rachel manages to get that lil trophy for MVP and then reverts straight back to her overly selfish ways.

Cheyenne Jackson was such a waste of a guest character.

Its sad to know that S2 is the last time Kurt/Blaine/Brittany/Tina/Quinn are all in their prime. Kurt gets declawed and is all about peace. Blaine I dont even think I need to say anything about. Brittany goes silent and is even dumber in S3. Tina...well her downfall started in S2 with her not being able to perform without crying but whatever. Quinn as we all know goes through so many rough patches it is ridiculous.

Quinn going 2 seasons focusing on Prom Queen sucks.

Well, I mean, she was a little over-the-top and not necessarily abusive, but I mean, kind of like condescending and stuff. Plus, I just think that they wanted Wemma to happen no matter what.

I'm just still pissed that we never found out about Quinn's "BIG PLANS!!11" for revenge after Jean's funeral. What a waste. Trying to sabotage the Glee club again from within after she's started kind of liking being there would have been a more fun way to destroy her character, at least, as opposed to that whole trying to frame kid's adoptive mom for abuse stuff we got in early s3.

Ugh, Quinn baby, why did the writers hate you so???

They should have just had her join the darkside with Sue again.

When did you start wanting Will with Emma? When did the consensus on fanforum start endorsing it? Did anyone here contend that they should reconcile?
In the middle of season two I wanted Will and Holly to start a slow relationship because that's what they both needed. She wouldn't have to appear often, just be mentioned occasionally until they needed a big development.
Likewise if other characters had healthy relationships (of any kind) outside of glee club there would be more credibility and suspense when each finally made an appearance.

I'm actually really ambivalent towards Will and Emma (at least after season one). I just figured it was kind of like a Finchel thing where there was no way that they weren't going to be endgame, so I basically just accepted it.

After the twists of season two I didn't consider any couple safe. what struck me was the way certain relationships were protected.
Finn kissed 200 girls but still went back to Quinn, then left her suddenly to go back to Rachel.
Blaine's one-night stand didn't even get to appear clearly on camera so no one could possibly root for him.
Poor Shane never got an identity, so there was no way to endorse him over Sam.
The only couple that improved into what looked like real love was Mike and Tina. Then they broke them up and never even said why.
Did anything like that ever happen in your high school?

I didn't really care about the couples in my high school cause I wasn't really friends with them or didn't know them personally.

I think I'm gonna do a rewatch soon. Start from season one and everything.

It really does feel like the spirit of the show ended with season three, to be honest. The structure of seasons four and five just didn't end up working because there wasn't enough of the original chemistry there anymore (mainly due to the fact that a lot of people were only used in guest slots/split geographically (Brittany and Santana, at least), and in general were just poorly used.
